Well, the body shop originally quoted me $150 with them pulling the bumper and grill off themselves. $125 if I pull it off myself, I decided it wasn't worth my time to take the bumper off myself again (since I did it when I installed the A-Spec bumpers myself) just to save $25.

However while I was at the body shop, I mentioned to the owner that I still have the stock front and rear bumpers at my house. Since he does all the body work for the Acura dealership I bought my car from, he offered to buy them off me. So he deducted the $150 from the cost of the bumpers and I walked out of there with a check.

+1. Looks great. Although I'm sure the A=Spec bumper helps out as well.

Now about those wheels

Yeah, the A-Spec bumper certainly makes it look better I'll admit that.

I'm getting a set of 19" RonJon Legends after winter. I was going to order them a few weeks ago but decided to hold off on any major purchases since my wife and I are expecting our first child in late December.

On the RonJon's and Congrats on the baby!

Looks like you'll have the best looking 2nd Gen out there.

rsjapan...I can see that some people would like what you have done with the grill but personally, I am not a big fan. The mesh makes too much visible all the stuff that is suppose to be hiding behind it so that wouldn't work for me....

DerwoodEE...I think yours look really good! I am not sure if its only because its in black but on your car, its pretty darn sexy. I am not sure if it would as good on a white one like mine...I have the bodykit too....Be curious if anyone has pics of a white one painted...

I do think that the painted Acura grill looks absolutely fantastic! Looks great in black and even better in white! Wow

Makes me kinda tempted to grab an Acura grill and paint it Grigio Gray! That would mean i would have to find Acura steering wheel otherwise it would look odd

Not a big fan of that mesh but it still looks very good. I'd love to see that with the stock mesh.

As far as I'm concerned the painted grille is now a must have. I saw an 09 RL with a fully painted grille on Sat. I haven't seen a 09 RL in the flesh before but I can say this one looked good.

Interesting to see how these grilles hold up to stone chips. I presume their primed and painted so it shouldn't be much different than a bumper.

kimnkk....thanks for reposting...to be totally honest, I still prefer the look of the original grill on the white, although, I do agree that on the black, its pretty sharp...Mine will stay as is for now....Wondering if just the painted sheild like they've done on the TL would look good?

hey 150? And you walked out with a check? That's a sweet deal. But hey, does anyone have recommendations for the vortex blue pearl TSX? I don't know if I should black it out or vortex blue pearl the metallic grill. Something to make it look nicer I guess.

i think it looks good as is because if u paint the grill blue it would look too blue and if u painted it black it would clash with the black.

The chrome grill is better...even if it's ugly. Now you made your $33,000 car look like a Corrolla.

I beg to differ. I think it gives it more of a sporty edge - sure, it does take away a bit of the luxury look, but in no way does it change it that dramatically.

Actually, i think it looks so good that i'm looking to get an Acura grill for my Accord Euro so i can paint it ! Does anyone know a place that can get Acura CU2 grills in, and ships to Australia, for a decent price?

Would love to get a grill like that, but i would have to paint it Grigio Gray

Y'know, someone needs to try this:

Keep the guillotine OEM chrome color, but paint the rest of the body color! I wanna see!

Because, if you think about it, the real problem with the nose isn't the clever, it's the weird chrome-colored "mouth."

Have a look at this post. I think you're thinking about the Silver one in these pics.

That grigio confirms it. Painted grille and A-Spec bumper FTW!

Now why couldn't that bumper be stock.

I think you're right, but the silver one is a TL and it's a bad pic, so it's really hard to tell! Plus, on a silver car, it's one of the worst examples of how the contrast would be -- because the sledgehammer and mouth are chrome, which is close to silver!

When you guys say "A-Spec" bumper do you mean the OEM add-on bumper or the "front underbody spoiler" as acura refers to it on their site?

I agree with the majority here, the painted grill is sweet, but I'd probably wait to paint it and drive around with the chrome one first. Then paint it after a few months or a year for a new look.

I appreciate all the feedback from everyone on this site. This has really helped me in my decision making process. I'll hopefully have an '09/'10 tsx by spring/summer of '09.

Acurazine ftw!

the grigio painted grill looks really good but i think the a spec bumper really adds a lot to it. it flows a lot better and it looks a lot edgier and has more rigid lines. i wanna see the painted grill on the stock bumper

does anyone have a pic of a silver/palladium tsx with a painted grill? i was thinking of getting it painted but the grill doesn't stand-out as much on a palladium colored one so i don't know if i should bother.

also, isn't the paint on the grill going to chip very easily when hit with rocks during normal driving?

damian.wayne, the grill will chip but you could easily get a clear bra and cut it to fit the grill and you should be fine
