I do, although it is called a CCW in California. Part of the required training in order to obtain a CCW is training on what to do when you are pulled over and how to handle a variety of situations with cops. I have been told, however, that the CHP may overreact even if you follow the proper procedure as they do not encounter CCWs often and do not know the law as well as other agencies.
I wouldn't advertise that I had a CCW. If someone did want to jack you, they'll know your armed and will take more aggressive action. I'd rather get the drop on them and let them assume I'm unarmed.
exactly my thought.
instead of just putting a gun to your head, theyll just pull the trigger as soon as they get up on you.
besides, youre gonna have a hell of a time getting the drop on a theif with a gun to your head unless you drive with one hand on your gun.
i DO think that the little side pocket on the center console would be a perfect place for a sub compact though.

A Baby On Board sign might work better. Most car jackers abandon the vehicle after they realize they have stolen a car with a baby in the backseat.
And then there's lojack. Anyone use it?
Lastly, drive a manual. These would be car jackers couldn't start the car:

I can tell you have never experienced a Texas summer in August. Its stays around 90 until December.
And in closing, id rather have a sign saying let me get my daugter out first, then you can take it.
I have insurance. Dont want to go through a legal battle and end up bankrupt because I was in the right.
There is a bill about to go through the Texas legislature to amend the castle doctine so that it does not apply to the car. Only the home. Is it right? Is it wrong? IDK.
