My 2016 RDX Advance functions in reading me my messages while in vehicle , however, when I try to answer them with one of the six short prompts programmed in system and hit send, it always says "failed to send", why is that ? Is it my iPhone 6 plus settings or the RDX ? Thanks for the help

 

It has nothing to do with Acura, it's because Apple's iOS software doesn't allow for it.

 

^^3rd party replies, such as those being sent by the Acura system, are not allowed by Apple iOs software. The iPhone does everything else, and the car was actually designed mostly for it, but cannot reply to messages unless you use Siri.

 

Mine stopped working after a couple of months. I don't know why, probably after an iOS update.

 

It also happens (occasionally) on a BlackBerry Z30 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

It is not necessarily the phone, but an issue with the Hands Free Link in the RDX.

Most of the time, even though the RDX says "not sent" it actually sends the TXT message.

 

get a windows phone, it will happily allow you to send text messages through your vehicle

 

I just bought an Acura RDX 2016 with tech package. How do you set it up to receive text and email. I receive a message that it isn't supported.

 

How did you set it up? I'm experiencing issues in trying to do so.

 

windows phone will prompt you over the BT connection Text message received from Joe Public. Read it, or ignore it. after it reads it the phone will ask you if you want to reply. The car does nothing, the phone handles it all on it's own routing everything through the car. make SURE you allow for remote device control/SIM access
