Man... My streak of being ticket free for almost 4 years ended tonight. Got singled out and pulled over for dark tint and issued a ticket with a work order. Po po was a grumpy little man who would not even give me a chance to explain myself. He even tried to harass me over some no front plate warnings I received on other cars I'ved owned all the way back in 2012. Talk about the power of Big Data and end of the month quota fleecing.
Funny, I was just thinking today how I wanted darker tint and happened to see a white C63 with like 5% tint and blacked out rims in a parking garage today (not sure what car or yours you got the ticket for though).
So my A/C started blowing warm from the driver vents. Took it to Honda instead of Acura because cheaper rates, they said it was low on freon so I have a slow leak somewhere. They evac, recharged, added a dye and told me come back once the A/C performance goes down again. I wonder what part it is that could be leaking.

I took a rock to the condenser and everything leaked out...
I took a rock to the condenser and everything leaked out...
I would say that is the most likely culprit.
Shit. I saw a lot of people complain on Honda forums about the same thing happening to their Accords. Dealers would tell them a rock hit the condenser and it needed to be replaced. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened because one time I took a road trip some big ass rock left a gash in my front bumper.
How much did it run you?
Been noticing a lot more rev-hang when pushing the car too. Thought the transmission fluid change would help, but seems the same.

Just patch it up with some JB weld and silicone lol
So since yesterday, my exhaust has been sounding very muffled. It's actually quite embarrassing to drive around town now . I'm not sure why... will have the exhaust shop check it out next week.
A couple of theories...
1) Cells/materials from the stock (second) catalytic converter started coming apart and is clogging the exhaust? I have the RV6 PCD and the Dime Feng FlashPro map... could be possible I guess.
2) Over two weeks ago, I visit a wedding venue and to enter their parking lot, there was this narrow, single lane driveway with a HUGE pothole. I went as slowly as possible, but as I was descending into it, something metallic on the car hit the ground. I was initially concerned, but didn't think much of it since the exhaust fitment looked fine, and the muffled sound only started happening yesterday. Perhaps it caused a dent/crack somewhere in the exhaust and it finally gave yesterday.
Anyway, going to check it out next week. Hope it's not something worse . If theory #1 checks out, I guess I'll have to go straight pipe lol. Don't want to replace it with another cat.

Got my Doggy Dooley installed! I already modified the shit out of it! JDM style! Check it out guys! Just gotta buy ~100 red wigglers to get the poo poo machine going!
Sorry to hear about your marriage starting to fall apart. You should get some light blankets now that spring is here it'll be getting warmer on the couch and you won't need to sleep with the heavier ones.
We compromised like real adults! For some reason she was totes fine with doggy dooley, but unrelenting about an open container full of worms. I think we both won. Worms are happy, Im happy, my wife is happy and my dog still shits wherever she wants in the yard....
Some day. Not necessarily now, but some day... The bucket of shit will come back in an argument a discussion you're having and you'll be like "I thought we talked that through and you were cool with the decision; why have you been silently holding the grudge for 14 years?!?!"

i've been waiting for this since i found out these OEMs suck ass. currently going through posts about brakes in this sub forum to see what i should get. was thinking the RL bbk, but think i wanna go with a diff brand
Be careful Joseph.. I got a gnarly scar on my knee to as a reminder to take it easy on a bike...
For sure, It's not gunna be my daily driver, and I am a defensive driver to begin with. Always looking for ways people are going to hit me, and "if this happens" scenarios. I'm not too worried about me doing stupid stuff on the bike as that's not really my personality.
It'll make you a better driver, for sure. Like you said, on a bike you not only need to pay attention to what you're doing, but also what everyone else is doing.
I used mine as my daily for years up until WagonJr arrived and then it just wasn't practical to ride it. That's just about to change though and I should be back on two wheels any day now.
It is absolutely staggering how inattentive most people are. I've never had any *really* close calls, but there have been plenty of times that being alert saved my skin. The most frequent thing I've seen is people deciding they want to be in your lane, or they just do a slow drift over on you without realizing it.
I have one on my bike, put one on my wife's, and even put one on my old Tacoma which had a weak stock horn. That would be a great first mod for your bike too ssjoerocket.

Have you felt that the air-horn was really useful? My bikes horn prolly sounds about as loud as my car horn. But to be honest, I feel like if you're reacting quickly, you just end up braking with no horn.

Oh yes.
I'm pretty sure I made one lady wet herself. The thing is that the volume and tone is not something you hear daily (unless you're cutting off semis) so when ol' distracted soccer mom Sally spills here frocachinopumpkinlatte and starts coming over on you, You give 'er the ol' "you're a dumbass" extended honk. Just lay on that sucker, and she realizes she's out of her lane and *quickly* corrects because she thinks there's a Semi about to mangle her Mall Rover.
It's loud.
I'll see if I can get a quick video. But you can probably find one on youtube.
And like everything else, it's all about reaction time and practice. Horn button is on the clutch hand so for emergency braking, you're grabbing a handful of right hand, adding right foot to keep things settled, and start mashing the horn button with your left thumb as you reach for the clutch.
Plus, for general day to day riding, I'd maybe honk once a week. A lot of it was preemptive, "I see you about to fuck up; please don't" honks to get eyballs off cell phones and back on the road. Sometimes, it was "please go, the light is green now and my balls are melting into the tank, your text can wait" toodling.
Thanks for the advice. Im looking through amazon now to try and find a good stand/spools so I can do my maintenance. It feels weird starting back at square one.. I know nothing about bikes lol. I'm learning a lot though.
I picked up a MIC-special T-Rex stand set off of ebay way back in the day. Back in 2008, they were $94 + $20 shipping. Even with inflation, it looks like they might have gone up a few dollhairs. Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Rex-FREESP...NUXPsy&vxp=mtr
It's held up fine and IMO, all the stands are about the same so it didn't make sense to spent $3-400 on a set when $120 would work as well.
It looks like you've got a traditional fork and not inverted so you'd need the front stand with the two black roller pad things. They cradle the bottom edge of the fork to lift from. Feels sketchy at first but it works.
Unless they make spools that will bolt on to the front fork which would let you use the hook style like on the rear. That's a bit sturdier, but most "entry" level bikes don't work like that on the front.
Yeah I didn't see anywhere for the spools to bolt into when I quickly looked over the bike. I think I will only need one for the rear no? Just for cleaning the chain? The spooless stands..they just have rubber or something and then you lift from a section of the fork? I need to research more to understand haha. I'm a noooooob.
I used to have a '99 Malibu, such as the one pictured above...and in white too! lol
the water pump likes to go out! be careful that you dont over heat the car!!
It definitely smells like an old car. It's been through two children in the past 8 years so I'm sure they helped out quite a bit.I bought it from my co worker so I know it's history.
No more plans for the TSX in the near future. The V6 has plenty of power for what I need. I've already spent way too much on this car at this point. Now all extra funds go to the house!
