It's actually die 'lectric grease.

As in, it kills the 'lectricity that's trying to escape and make oxidation.

Is that why I get shocked on my door cause all the 'letricity being lost from the battery?

Most likely. Have you tried dielectric grease? Just a thin layer on a piece of toast in the morning instead of jelly and it should fix you right up.

:/

One of my V3 Triton bulbs stopped working... I'm really surprised actually caused they seemed like a really well built product. Let's see what VLED has to say. I hope they don't make me ship it back to them, that's one of the things I can't stand.. product fails and they make the consumer pay to ship it back..

Yeah they are pretty damn bright, and they match well with the color.

I posted somewhere about this already, but my VLEDS foglights went too. Granted I bought mine used off a member on Azine, but they were in prestine-looking condition and AFAICT, he was a very nice and honest person to deal with so I'm not concerned about having bought a used product that was abused or used more than he reported. Since mine were out of warranty, the most they offered was $20 off from a select range of products, which IMO is bullshit.

VLEDS is not as great as I once thought. I did some more research only after this happened, and noticed many people complaining about premature issues on other forums.

You're better off going with Diode Dynamics or some other brand who actually cares about the people they deal with.

This morning as I was getting ready to leave for work, I got the "click-click-click-click-click" response from my car when trying to start it. Since it's "winter" here in Houston (lol, 50F?) for the past month, my car has been cranking just a tiny bit slower.

Evidently, having not driven it for three days and then a cool morning was enough to put it over the edge into nu-uh territory.

Goody.

So begins the routine of moving the other car closer, jumping the wagon, and then driving over to the dealer to get a new battery (2.5 years in, should be free battery!). Of course, in the 10 minutes or so it takes to get there, the car is toasty warm and has been charging the battery. They diagnose it and it's all good.

And of course, since it's all good, they can't replace anything. Their astute observations are that it was cool this morning and that I don't drive it much. And that I should just drive it more and this wouldn't happen.

I mean, I let that sink in... I should drive it more... Which I would gladly do... If it would start.

Thankfully, they didn't charge me for the privilege of imparting that wisdom on me, surprisingly enough.

As I'm getting ready to leave, the service guy is like "let me just go have them give it a quick wash and I'll bring it around" I ask him kindly "please don't, just bring it out, thanks".

He runs off and I walk out front as he comes driving up with it dripping wet.

Me: O_o
Him: They already did it.
Me: Yup.

But, for the first time, I've now gone to the Acura dealer and didn't need to have an extended discussion about why I'm bringing them a Honda Station Wagon. So that's something.

Yeah I was really surprised that it failed, because I had their original switch backs that I installed on my TSX almost 5 years ago with no problems.. The V3 tritons are very well put together though, harness, adapters.. all plug and play and the install was seamless. I just sent my last email, and they told me to cut the wires on the bulb and send them a pic, and they would send me out a new one (no cost). So it's been pretty easy talking with them. It did not feel right cutting those wires though haha it hurt just a tad.

To add, I have actually bought bulbs from 3 separate companies and all 3 have no had some type of problem. I imagine it's just low quality LED/Bulb suppliers that don't have high QA standards... At least everyone thus far has given me a replacement for free.

Glad they could help you out. I forgot to mention that I got the VLEDS VX3s, which are apparently discontinued. I guess if they weren't discontinued, they might've sent me a replacement. But their alternative solution for me was piss poor, and I won't be going back to them ever again. Definitely glad you're getting a new replacement though!

Sucks for the first point, but I suspect most dealers will give you that bs if they feel like it.

Onto the other, I'd be so upset at the "free carwash" without my consent. Did you detail your car? I did it myself a couple of summers ago and have been doing proper hand washes myself ever since (except for touchless washes in the winter to get rid of the salt/grime). All it takes is one bad wash and all your little scratches come back . Even if this isn't the case for you, still not fair for them do so something when you told them not to.

I mean... when you pay $150 for LEDs lol.. they should replace them when a 6-month failure happens.

Yeah. It looked okay until I came out from work (early, just in case it was dead again and I'd need to call AcuraCare to tow it to the dealer) and noticed all the nice swirls on the rear quarter now. There was nothing before because I didn't use grimy old gym socks to wipe down my car. But it'd be my word vs theirs... So whaddyado?

Rant on the internet, I suppose.

I can't seem to find many exhaust clip videos. Just some noob with a wagon on YouTube.

Did you prep the surface? Save some of your soju and wipe it on the car right where you want it to stick.

I haven't done it yet, but reading the instructions and it seems like the little bracket is needed.

I mean, I guess you could try.

What's the worst that could happen? Bent rims?

Different tires stretch differently so depending on what tire you get, it'll change how it looks. But with those specs, you're gonna have a little stretch. I run 265s on my 9.5 and 255 on 8.5

I guess if you just tape the hell out of all the edges, it might hold up.

On my old Accord, the side skirts replaced the OEM side trim pieces so there was a push and click type attachment on the bottom/underside. Then I think there was a screw in both wheel wells, and the entire top edge was held on with double stick 3M tape.

You might be able to just tape it up. But it's anyone's guess if they'd hold up to repeated Dukes of Hazard style curb hops.

Well, there's 2 screws on the front, I'm just worried about it falling off on the back and dragging it around like a pair of nutz
