it's sooo clean. no rust at all.
ungh.
A long time ago, there was a house in town that had an OG Mini just sitting in the side yard. I'd pass by it almost every day.
One day, my girlfriend mentioned that there was a for sale sign on it. I got up and drove over to buy it because, well, just because.
Got there. Gone.

Some day I should buy one.

A month of trying to sell my TSX and still no luck. Best dealer offer was $9.5k, private sell was $12. Keep in mind I have a 09 TSX 6pd Tech with only 64k miles, no accident history. I'm asking $14.5
Sat thru 4 PPI's and bit my tongue thru all of them, hearing things that were "wrong" or "about to break" on my car. One mechanic actually said the exhaust shouldn't flex (while pointing at the flex pipe). Another said my brake fluid is way past due based on color (I'm running ATE super blue). A third said I'm due for a valve adjustment (I hear no valve chatter at 64k miles). Ironically, all 4 of the mechanics came back with results that were never duplicated by another mechanic. Just goes to say, don't drink too much of your personal mechanic's kool-aid. PPI's are good for what they are, but I think the mechanics point out stuff that would be easy money for them off gullible customers.
Long rant over. Stock life for the CU2 now. Time to look for that beater 4x4 truck to play with.

^im sure if you wanted to sell, you would accept that $9.5k or lower your asking price.
butt, sounds like you'd rather keep it as its worth more to you than selling

as humans, we tend to overvalue the things we own.
for the longest time, i thought my TL was still worth $12-14k...I had to accept the reality that its worth much less. I still think im over valuing it at $9k.

It's odd. Some times it takes a long time to sell a car, for no particular reason. And some times they'll sell right away, for no particular reason.
If you're not in a huge hurry to get rid of it, just keep putting the feelers out every so often. Eventually the right person will come along.
Are you being a bit optimistic on the price though? If I were looking to buy your car I'd probably be in the $12-13.5k range; with a real pull towards the lower end.
Have you explored what you'd get on trade for a new vehicle?

I priced on the higher end because everyone likes to negotiate down. I'd let it go if someone gave me $13. Not in a real rush to sell it as I owe nothing on it. It can chill in the garage until the right person comes along.
Most of the dealers around here could care less about my car. One didn't want it cause it's a slow seller due to 6spd. Toyota offered me $9 towards a new 4Runner.

Alright, so you're in the right ballpark it sounds like.
Yeah, if you can afford to hold it, it'll get bought eventually (if you really want to sell it that is).
Did you post a FS in the Black Market?

lol first i need to get it running. it would be super cool to supercharge it though.
When i looked up the value on my TSX pre-crash it was like 9k on bluebook, and i had a 2010. When i looked at similar ones for sale they were all like 10-11. Funny thing is, insurance paid out almost 17k for the thing, way more than it would have ever sold for. The value tanked for whatever reason.
I'd have just taken the 12k offer if i were you lol

Keep it 20 more years in storage and only drive it ~100 miles a year just so it's not sitting around. Then you'll be able to sell it for at least 17k-18k. Think about all that profit!!!

Dealers know that (aside from speciality cars) only 5% of cars sold in the US are manuals and they'll sit on the lot forever until the right person comes along.
A private sale (have you tried the black market here?) is really the only way to sell a manual. Given that the used market in general has tanked with all of the lease returns, decent rebates on new cars and the TSX no longer being a model sold, the value really has gone down the crapper - something that I did not suspect earlier.
Go to CARMAX and see what they offer you. Find a manual TSX on CARMAX.com and price your car between the two.
wont be spending any MORE money with them.
Thanks for sharing.
not sure what else you are expecting from us?
like ceb said.......it WAS the premier place. now its on the SHIT LIST.
FWIW I have some really NICE BLUE EXLED OVERHEADS for you if that helps.
I always plug www.theretrofitsource.com for good reason.

CarMax was one of the first shops I visited for their ease. They offered $9k + $575 trade credit if I found something on their lot.
I'm still in shock in how quickly this car has lost it's value. Guess I'll ride it til it dies.
Houses are cool. And expensive. But mostly cool.
Just be sure to buy one well within your means. General upkeep and problems add up financially. Plus my property taxes went insane this year and now I pay another $100/month more than I did when I bought it last year
