They look nice, but for like $500 a wheel, I'd go with something aftermarket.

I'm too lazy to do that shit, but it looks cool. I think he used to post on here too, his car has the AZ sticker.

Yeah i don't get the one month part. I guess it's just because shipping from china takes so long.... The actual thing looks like it'll take only a few hours.
Also i would skip the clear coat step he did.

I tried to find that car on here but i couldn't. dunno if he is on here

That guy has a DIY playlist on YouTube. Pretty informative when I was more of a noob lol (i.e., taking the front bumper cover off).

@ VR1, https://acurazine.com/forums/car-tal...y-more-922397/

@urbanstereo, 3 weeks should be ok. But don't be surprised if it won't turn over when you get back.

@iCrap, did you buy rob's sills? The OEM JDM/EDM Accord ones come with an option for illumination and they look pretty good. Maybe you can make it look OEM for a fraction of the cost

No I didn't get them yet. I was looking around and both killerG and this guy in that that video made theirs with acryllic. I'm thinking it might be way harder to do it by cutting out the OEM one

Yeah i think acryllic is the better option. I can go to home depot and get a few sheets for like 20 bucks. And i still have a ton left over from my computer case mods.

That's probably fine. pretty much it would be acrylic sheet cost + light cost + vinyl cost + shipping.

Forever... Just don't go over 45 or whatever it says. Also don't put the donut on the powered wheel.

My parents bought a 4k tv. There's not that much content, but if you're spending that kind of $$, might aswell get 4k for futureproofing. But who knows, 4k may go down the road of 3D, where there's still like nothing in 3d to acually watch. Stupid Xbox One and PS4 need to hurry up and start allowing 4k. I think the thing where 4K could have the biggest impact are in fps and racing games.

4K is the new standard, like 1920x1080 (1080p). It's not going anywhere... for a long time. The resolution will only increase as time goes on.

Movies that you see at the theater are shown in at minimum 8k resolution (Imax is 16k), so the content IS there. The problem is getting it on your TV still.. you can't put that 4k movie on a Blu-ray.

Also the 4K tv and 4K players will upconvert, so yes even though there isn't much content, 1080p content still looks a million times better.

3D is fucking stupid. my tv has it, used it once. hated it

They can't do it. First I doubt they even have the new HDMI standard that allows for 2160p (4k) @ 30z over HDMI.
Anyways, assuming they could even ouput 4k. that's FOUR times HD resolution.

The xbone and PS4 already struggle to get 30FPS @ 1080p, forget about 60.
Now quadruple that resolution and it'll get like 5 fps lol.

The "next gen" console hardware is actually equivalent to PC hardware from 3-4 years ago.

And yet I don't see a difference in quality compared to a downloaded BluRay 1080p rip I play on my 1080p 240hz capable TV from a reasonable viewing distance. 4k, IMO, is a big waste of people's time unless you get a giant screen and/or love to sit close.

@VR1
Sure you can future proof, but why? When 4k content ACTUALLY picks up, these displays will be so much cheaper by then, AND you'll actually start seeing better quality displays. And perhaps more manufacturers will start hitting the 4K consumer display market, creating even more reason for cheaper prices. It makes more sense to get an LED 1080p display right now for a much cheaper price if you absolutely need a TV today.

Most of this is just my opinion, but quality in terms of pixel density, 4k vs 1080p at a proper viewing distance is not an opinion. It's physics. We cannot see a difference unless you're close enough. What most people are seeing is likely just a difference in quality of the display itself. Better blacks, better contrast, better pixels, NOT better number of pixels.

I can see the difference but then again maybe it just bothers me more than most people to see jagged edges and pixels, etc. And the downloaded files are way to compressed and have color banding and stuff.

But of course you won't notice a huge difference between a theater screen and your home screen. But now imagine the theater screen was showing the movie in 1920x1080? That would be horrible.

You just have to spend some time watching one. Everyone who has seen mine is just blown away.
It's the difference between 90ppi (current tv) and under 25ppi on the previous 60 inch it replaced.

I do think though that buying a 4k TV under 60 inches is just dumb. There is no point.

Yea, right now it still does make sense to get a 1080 display for most people. For me it came down to.. needed a new tv (old one died), wanted a big TV, if i'm getting a new large tv it might as well be 4k. And the nice thing about this samsung is the processing can be done on an external box so it'll never be obsolete (new standards can be added with just the box). The previous Sony lasted 10 years, and I think this Samsung will last even longer.

Absolutely. I didn't know you were getting a 60" TV though. This definitely makes a lot more sense than say a 46" or even a 52" (which is what I have atm). And the processing being done externally from the TV itself is pretty sick. Never knew that existed. But yeah I guess what I was mostly getting at was the typical consumer who isn't a videophile, is going to experience a placebo effect of a "better quality TV" simply because it's new, or the viewer was informed it's a 4K display. Hell some people just buy expensive TVs and assume the quality is better than the next brand's flagship TV. But yeah if you're checking for a tiny bit of aliasing whenever you're watching ANYTHING because shit bothers you, then yeah the difference may be huge to you. I think the worst is when I see some guy in a striped shirt/sweater on a terrible TV. Aliasing for days... Also yeah if the theatres were playing 1080p it would look like shit. The screens are gigantic, so PPI is gonna be mad low. They need the high res content and the high res projectors/screens.

Goodness!! Just a quick thought and I'm sure it's been asked previously, what about TLX wheels? They're starting to pop up on the used market.
