I agree, this indeed is stupid of Acura. I wanted SE (6spd) + TECH as well. I ended up with the TECH, which as you all know must be 5AT.

However, I think you made the right choice. TECH wasn't exactly a cheap upgrade from base, so if you don't mind spending, do what some of the guys here are doing by getting the JDM double din bezel and putting in an aftermarket head unit. If you guys recall, CU2 Dan did this to his car (amongst a few others on azine). It looks pretty awesome IMO. FYI, the JDM double din bezel/trim is expensive. However, there are similar options that look as stock/good as the JDM double din bezel. Do some research in the Audio section of the forums... someone has done this already, but I forgot who.

Acura's navi is mediocre at best in this car. I wish I had gotten an SE and done this mod.

EXTREMELY worth it. When it came out my cousin knew it was going to be a craze and it was going to be out of stock, he bought like 15 sold some for $75, some for $65 and he kept two. Its great and it works flawlessly.

If you have nothing else that lets you access HBO GO and Netflix, then the Chromecast for $35 will be well worth it to you!

When I first got it, I used it to stream DirectTV's NFL games for free and top quality (I do not have DirectTV ).


edit: ebay items?! Just be on the lookout every once in a while for a Chomecast deal that usually goes like this..... "$30 for Chromecast and comes with free $15 or more Google Play Credit".

 

chromecast is the BEST. there is even a program which lets you cast your entire screen off your PC. best $30 ever spent.

my ps3 is my main media source, blu-rays + streaming content.
butt, I do use the chromecast to cast youtube vids to my tv

 

I occasionally use it to cast youtube vids, esp big movie trailers. Now, I use it as a HTPC to cast all the movies and tv shows I have on my hard drive without setting up a HTPC and I can also use my phone as the remote control, so no need for pc to be in the same room as giant TV.

Welp I think you guys convinced me.

My projector is hooked up to my PS3 so I use that for all of my media as well.

But I bought a 46" LED vizio a few years ago before the "smart tv's" came down in price so Im thinking at $35 it would be a pretty good deal to convert it into a "smart tv." I rarely use that tv in my room but sometimes its nice to watch a movie in bed instead of the couch.

Don't know what that metal ring is. Those LEDs are going to suck. I had ones like that and they put out no light. During the day you can hardly see them.

 

Op what did you use instead? Different leds or a regular bulb?

And chromecast is almost better than an Htpc Btw.. You can cast dled movies off your PC and it even sends the full 5.1 audio track. I hardly use my Htpc aside from storage space anymore.

So I drove my friends 2013 Mustang and was highly disappointed... It's the V6, but even so, it felt so... mushy. Like, I don't even know how to describe it lol. It felt like I was driving a freggin Camry.... and even that feels better than the Mustang imo Or I was just expecting too much out of it lol

 

My friend has a 5.0 which I drive a lot and just as you described it is how I described it on this forum a few times. Basically really mushy. Its feels super lazy and lethargic. Definitely not tight or slightly precise at all. Its like your like let's go this way and its like uhhhhh no.. Let's just go straight.. Not much feedback and pretty much 0 feel.

The V6 is a ginormous piece of crap. But they can be had for ~20-21k or much less when slightly used.. So I guess I'd take it over a corolla but not much else.

The FRS on the other hand will make you fall out of the door giggling when you're done.
