This is the reason I hate washing my car.

 

I daiy drive mine...just hit 32k today. Where's mcneverdrivesboy? He's probably at 5k now.

 

If only the insides matches the outside revisions. Maybe I'll go for the other car Toyota may make.... FT1, I think?

 

Ah, soon you all will just stop washing your car and be happier.

 

Or just accept the fact that wear and tear is gonna happen and there's nothing that I can do about it.

 

Just picked up 36 microfiber towels for washing my car. I think I have ~50 in total now.

 

I only use microfiber towels to clean the interior. Microfiber sponge to wash and waffle weave towel for drying.

Revmatching is for downshifting... OK easy way to tell. Coming down from second gear to first gear, shift it at around 3k rm from 2nd to first... What does the car do? Match the revs for a smooth gear change or jerk you forward in your seat?


Just don't worry about it. I drive the crap out of mine, That's what its made for. I've put on 13k miles on mine since I got it in June.

 

My car just turned 20k. And that's with several trips from socal to nocal. Its really my wifes car and she has a short commute and can work at home if she wants to. I daily ths SS.

p.s. I only like the microfibers from costco, as they dont come with a tag on the cloth. a tag on the cloth will ruin your paint!!

 

^ I buy microfiber towels in bulk from BJ's, and have to rip the tags off of them. So fckn annoying!!

 

I bought bulk mf towels from Costco to use around the house (cleaning stainless steel appliances, counter tops, etc) and they came w/ tags.

 

Between us, my wife and I have 2 cars. I'll fix dents, but wear and tear is a reality on a day driver getting 16,000 miles a year.

 

Those are actually the ones I got! Didn't realize you had to wash them before using though, so I got yellow crap all over my car when drying. Well try again today. Also I think the ones I got have tags, not sure though.

But my car has held up pretty well at 14k. No scratches or anything. Wheels shine as good as new too!

 

Im pretty sure it jerks, I'll pay closer attention though today and report back.

I have two dedicated waffle weave drying towels that are SUPERIOR to microfiber towels when drying.

let us know how the microfiber towels feel. did you buy the ones he recommended? if you have the other ones that he talks about...the ones he said are made from china junk...can you compare the two and let us know what your thoughts are?

 

future BIL washed my car for me while me and the fiancee did wedding stuff...looked fine till i got to the front. so many little dings and stuff from the road. looks like my car got a serious case of acne in the front. sigh too late to do anything now...but next car i get i'm putting on that clear bra...
