Wiper control arm replacement

Has anyone had this problem:
02 3.2 TL , wipers go too far to the left. They also don't stay in the ready position between wipes. It does it most of the time. Any one know about this problem? Thanks

^ What do you mean they stay in ready position?

And going to far to the left....do you mean it hits the side of the windshield?

Do a search ! This is written up several times and is also (I'm pretty sure) in the DIY section.

If you're feeling lazy, just put in a 22" blade instead of the 24" blade. That way, it won't get caught on the side. Of course, you lose a little bit of a blade, put in a pinch it should work until you can get the problem fixed.

I had this same problem (sort of). On the ends of the arm linking the wipers, there are small white plastic ball joint cups for the ball on each wiper arm. Sometimes they come off, or wear out. I bought a new OEM one for about $21 at the dealer. You hafta unclip the hydraulic hood arms and washer spray hoses, and then lift hood up to the windshield (be careful of winshield). Then remove the black plastic wiper motor/linkage covering that runs along the bottom of the windshield to get at the linkage arm. Unsnap and replace the arm.
