Help?

So I'm not going to be able to give too much information on the problem with my '99 TL, but here is what I can give you:

I am having an issue with car death. By that, I mean when it gets hot outside and the car warms up it will die. Just out of nowhere she'll lose power for a few minutes and come back. After power comes back it will still be a few minutes before I am able to get the car started for driving again.

It might also be worth mentioning that a few months ago I had another issue. I would warm her up and run my normal errands, and when I would start her back up she would do one of two things: sputter and die, or start but be shaky for a minute.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I've thought the whole time that it might be something fuel related, but not sure?

I am hoping to drive her down to California for vacation next month and would like to get it diagnosed and fixed ASAP.

Any thoughts?

".....lose power for a few minutes...."- completely shut off, as if you had switched off the key? Possible failing ignition switch, other members report 99s have this problem.

Look in the DIY section under 'lighting' for more info. Seems like it should be listed in the 'electrical' section tho.

Ok, great. I guess doing a bit more in depth searching around here would have done some good. It's amazing to see how many others have had this same issue. Seems like an easy enough fix.

Thanks!
