Weird noise thread(yep another one)

Ever since I bought my TL-S a few weeks ago I've noticed this weird popping noise that comes from the front end. It only happens when I'm pulling into a driveway or going over a bump or dip while turning. It just makes a single pop or clunk. It's not continuous like a cv joint. I know all too well what those sound like when they are going out. This seems to me like it could be a suspension issue.

Also, I had my car inspected right after I bought it by my mechanic(Honda/Acura only place) and he specifically told me that all the motor/tranny mounts were OK and so was the undercarrage. There has to be something that was overlooked as I know that noise is not normal.

I think I'll give him a call tomorrow morning. However, comments from you guys are greatly appreciated.

I know this post was from a long time ago, but it seems like my car has the same issue. I wanted to know if you ever figured out what the popping noise was. Mine only does it when I pull into a steep driveway. It's not continuous. Just a single pop or a clunk from the front drivers side. I had the lower ball joints, front struts & front stabilizer links done and it still does it. My mechanic says everything else looks good & he doesn't know what it could be. Any help is appreciated. Thank You

He looked at the upper control arm & bushings and he said they were good. But he didn't say anything about worn suspension bushings. I will have them looked at next time. Hopefully thats what it is. Thanks

Just looking at something that may have over 100k and 10 years of wear may not tell the tale.

Could very well be the front lower control arm front bushing is worn out. Look where it mounts to the car and see it the control arm is too close to the frame. If you turn the wheel outward you will be able to see it. You can replace just the bushing...or have a shop do it. It requires a press to remove and install the bushing.
