Today my 2002 Acura TL type S wont start, put key in ignition and er er died, so i pulled the battery out and replaced it with another, reattached the terminals then the horn sounds, try to start the vehicle but nothing, the horn is still on a constant sound like bbbeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppp at this point. what must i do to get my car started is there some kind of procedure when replacing the battery, is there some type of security issue, sorry don't have the owners manual. HELP PLEASE CHRISTMAS IS TOMORROW AND NEED TO TRAVEL. THANKS

Sounds like the replacement battery doesnt have a full charge either
Got a battery charger or way to take the new one to the store for a 1 hour quick charge?
No special procedures except the radio will want its securty code and the nav will too
Do you have those written down somewhere?
Are the battery cables looking bad- corrossion growing on them? Clean everything and at the NEG cable- make sure where its base mounts, is clean too

Was the replacement battery one you had sitting at home?, maybe in direct contact with metal, concrete or dirt? That will suck the juice right out of it- forcing recharge before use.
Note to those storing any battery- a piece of 2x4 wood is a great insulator against this.

the car wont start and goes click click - thats usually a battery issue
replace dead battery with dead batteryand weak electrical signal could be attempting to trigger the alarm but not enough power
Until the OP charges the battery or gives more info....

Hi guys, i have solved the problem, after inspecting the fuse box i noticed that the battery 120 fuse was blown then i decided to check the battery again and after a more aggressive look i noticed that the battery was installed the wrong way around with the negative in the positive position and vise versa. so the dead battery had terminals on the left hand side of the battery and the newer one had terminals on the right hand side of the battery, all i did was install the battery in the same position as the old one without checking the pos & neg terminals thus crossing the power, so "MurdaZ" is right. Well I corrected the problem but when i started the car the radio don't came on if you press the power button what must i do in this case, all the other fuses are good.

a short, and a hooked up the battery backwards and blew the main fuse- are not exactly the same thing- but glad you got it solved
I will remember in the future to ask if the battery is hooked up correctly~
When you turn the radio on it should say CODE
there is a 5 digit security code- sometimes written under a fusebox cover- there are many covers, or on the side of glovebox door- on a biz card from selling dealer- in the owner book
stored on your acura.com account?
enter that and radio will work again

Hi "01tl4tl" when i press the power button there is no power to my radio or cd player OEM of course, so therefore i can not enter my five digit code needed and i do have my codes too. Radio will not switch on for some reason, all fuses seems to check out unless there is something i missed, thanks for help in advance.
