rough start

I didnt see this problem addressed yet on this site so here goes.
When the engine is cold it sputters when I hit the gas. It almost feels like the throttle is sticking but its not cuz I had it checked. After my car warms up it runs fine. Any ideas? I had a computer diagnostic run on the car and they were unable to find a problem although I did not have it done at the dealer.

honda's all suck when they are cold. you need to let your car warm up and better yet let your car warm up and while pressing the brake shift through your gears a few times waiting a few secs before switching to the next to let the tranny move around and warm up a little and your car will respond much better. Honda's are better in warm weather than cold IMO.

Actually it is completely normal for the J32 to run a little (emphasis on LITTLE) rough when first started in cold weather. This is emissions related and doesn't indicate a problem.

Mine splutters when it is cold too. If the car parked for more than 3 days, it will shake like it wants to shut off. I had to hold the gas for 10 seconds for it to stabilize. Could that be EGR Ports need to be cleaned, fsttyms1?

In Montreal Canada the temp in winter could go from -25oC to -40oC
and believe me it take a few minutes to warm the engine oil and transmi fluid Otherwise if you can feel car hesitate a bit and the transmi does
react like in slow motion. After the engine is warm up everything come back to
normal. How cold have you been living in your area ?
