Revs up and down
Revs up and down
Hey Guys,
got a little problem with my Acura TL 1999. When I start it the engine rhythmically revs up and down between 1200-2000rpm. Also in gear it runs higher by default.
I left the car standing for 4 month since I was out of the country.
Somebody has an idea what it is and how I can fix it?
Cheers

Small update
TCS light, check engine light is on and the oil light blinks. Stopped driving it. None of the lights were on before with the upper symptoms.
Also now I do have a P1129 code from the OBD2 reader.

I am sure you looked up the P1129 which is a faulty MAP sensor. Rockauto SMP brand about $45. Can cause surging idle. Since it's been 4 months since the car was started, Check the engine bay to make sure the vacuum lines are good and nothing has made it their new home.
I failed to hit post in a timely manner, so instead of echoing Jon M's great advice, I'll share a joke about lag instead...
What do a 1000hp Supra and a 400hp Supra have in common? They both run a 12sec quarter mile!
All old 90's jokes aside, good luck with the '99,

it does sound like something related to the throttle body, for sure. i had this issue too and it turned out to be one of the sensors on the tb. i forgot which one.
i think there's two.
