Problems after header installation
Problems after header installation
Alright everyone, I installed Nopi headers in my 03 tl on Sat. and am experiencing some problems:
1. I have never had headers installed on any vehicle I have owned. When I hit the gas I am hearing a high pitched noise that I am assuming is a leak. Here's the question...How do I find the leak and what do I do to fix it?
2. My engine, maint., and tcs lights are now on. I would guess the engine light is on because the sensor was not reinstalled (it would have rubbed on the oil pan and all of the wires would have been cut in time), but what about the other 2? I know everything is functioning correctly, so is there any way to turn these off?

if that's the case, is there a sensor that's about 2" shorter that can be used? there just isn't enough room for the stock sensor to fit without rubbing on the oil pan.

Unfortunately no. The only rememdy is to have a muffler shop move the 02 sensor bung to the correct location. This is a common problem with one brand of headers (I think it's OBX).

i talked to a guy that has put headers in his ride before and he said the noise i thought was a leak is actually the force of the air hitting the cat. so, the obvious question is.........any suggestions for a high flow cat and/or a cat-back system?
ok, i got the o2 sensor moved...$43.00 at a custom muffler shop. this turned off the tcs light but the engine light is still on. any suggestions? is there a way to turn it off similar to the maintenance light?
