Powerslots and noise?

hey i got slotted powerslot rotors in the front with hawk hps pads. Had them on for about 4 months. the last 2 weeks they have been screaching loud. what can this be caused by and how can i fix this? im thinking it could be brake dust but what else could it be?
Noise is really embarassing lol

check your pad thickness along with you may need to add some anti brake squeal stuff to back of the pad.

also, the pads you have are more agressive then standard pads and may need more heat in them to stop the squealing. i had the hps plus on the stang and then the hps, they always squealed but not so much the hps

It should come with your pads, but if not you can pick it up at any automotive shop for like $1 per package.

You can get it at all parts stores. Most likely most of the nose is coming from teh more aggressive pad. Also check the thickness of the pads while your putting the anti squeel on

i will say on my hps plus pads they lasted about 10k and gave off loads of brake dust and ate my new rotors like they were nothing. the hps's helped a little on the dust part.

Make sure the anti squeal stuff goes behind the pad wherever there is metal to metal contact with the caliper. Do not apply it to the face of the pad or the rotor itself. It seems stupid but to most people its reasonable the noise comes from the rubbing of the pad on the rotor so they feel thats where it goes.

update. i brought my car in to get the brakes checked and they lubed it up but the rubbing noise is still there mostly coming from the passenger side. when i made right turns it makes a big squessy noise. the mechanic said its from the rotor being slotted that the pad is hitting the groove causing the noise. i dont think so ne more suggestions??? i hate these noises makes me not want to drive the TL ne more.

Most likely coming fromt the pads I think. My bro has Hawk pads on his Civic and they squeak. I have Akebono Ceramics and they are queit but the Rotora Slotted rotors have a hum to them at moderate to heavy braking which I learned to live with.

Id say ditch the pads and get new ones. Slotted rotors should cause a hum while moderate brakeing but not screatching. Try switching to a different pad
