Hello forum dwellers, first post here.

I have a '99 tl which decides to not start intermittently. The battery and alternator were checked out several months ago and deemed to be fine. This issue of the car not turning over seems to be exacerbated during the winter. Bad wires, starter, or maybe a second opinion on the alternator needed? This is extremely frustrating, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

Ignition Switch would be my Guess.. They tend to go bad in early 2G TLs.

 

That's as good as an estimation as anything I've heard. I'll just go to the mechanic telling them to replace it and possibly the starter.

 

Hey Dartgande, the ignition switch may be all that ya need to resolve your problem. There's some info pertaining to replacing the switch in the "DIY" sticky. The part is about $50 or so at any auto parts store. It's not an overly difficult installation if you or a friend has some basic skills.
