No running lights, engine turns but wont start

Hey fellas, my 1999 TL-S has been having this problem. Go to start it but it just keeps turning over but wont start. I then noticed that when i turn the key to ON position none of my dash lights turn on like they always do. Any suggestions? Figured it was a fuse but checked the box under the hood and their all good, is there another fuse box?

I think there are 3 fuse boxes. I know one is at the end of the dash, driver's side.

while its odd symptoms for a switch failure- we have only heard of them when running and car shuts off momentarily- with loss of dash lights--
so I will agree with the clown on this one'

99s had a recall for the ignition switch back- acura will replace it once then after that you have to follow the DIY here- about 50 bucks at parts store for the electrical part of the switch

You can check for the starter signal fuse number 13 i think from the inside fuse block, the left side kick panel on the driver side. might as well check all the fuses in there lol. If all looking good then it could be the ignition switch itself.

fsttmys1 has an 00 type S,,homemade with CL-S motor and 6 speed Manual trans

acura MAY cover the cost of a tow for you - as it is a recall and you are stuck
CALL customer care 1-800-382 2238 x5 and ask them
calll the service manager at dealer- not the writer- the manager who knows where to look things up
corp is paying the bill for repairs..let them hook you up!

they send the truck- you dont have to do anything
except need a brand new loaner car while they order a switch!!

so i just skipped all the steps of towing it and what not, got the part shipped to me, changed it out in 15 min and shes running like a champ, lady at the dealership said there was another recall so when i take it down there for that one they will reimburse me for the ignition switch.

Glad its fixed! It sucks not having the car...

Did it take the three weeks (between posts) to get it shipped to you?

If I'm reading this right, the starter was functioning, but no fire to the plugs. Weird that the ignition switch will allow the starter to crank, but not allow firing. I guess it's the 'on' position that is faulty, not the 'crank' position on the switch.

Go to an auto parts store and get the battery tested first. Should be a free service.

sounds like a battery. Bring it to a auto parts store or battery store. They will load test it for you

What part description was exactly shipped to you?
You actually changed it out in 15 min or some mechanic did and you actually did verify him installing the part....just asking ....
