That the Power Steering Pump and it helps you move the steering wheel while the car is not moving.
You may have the O-ring failure, bearing or belt. Its best if you post a video of the noise to better help.

I will work on making a video when i go on my lunch break!

This humming sound only happens on a cold start, once i drive off it goes away and acts perfectly normal. I also have a check engine light that illuminated today, i will post the code when i go one break. Hopefully its nothing serious!

P0401 is normally associated with the EGR system. When was the last time that the TB intake and EGR passageways were cleaned ? Been awhile....try that first !!!

I bought the car from a dealership. I really don't know if it was cleaned or not. Thank you i will start there first, what would be the price range on this type of work?

If ya are mechanically inclined.....read the "DIY" sticky for cleaning procedure tips. The cost of stuff needed is less than $20. If ya take it to a shop, figure on at least an hour or two of labor at their going rate plus the cleaning materials. Maybe $100 or so, IDK ?

No problem.
Try to get the video off your phone onto a computer and you can upload it to Youtube then just copy the link from Youtube and paste on here.

That thing is screaming O-ring, you need to pull the pump out to change it out with a new one.

You can also get this part at your local Acura or Honda dealer

Im going to do the EGR valve myself most likely. Am i ok driving with the o-ring acting like this? im a daily highway driver.

What would be a "guesstimate" price on this job.

I didnt want to start a new thread about the same problem so ill just double post.

I bought the o ring for my tl. But its black? I bought it at the honda dealer, they told me the black one is for the top of the pump and the orange one is for the one thats close to the engine.

Im confused because i seen a video on youtube and the guy was changing the o ring thats on top of the pump itself and said if the ring is black change it to orange.
So the question is - Does the color of the oring really matter?
The oring i bought. Part #: 91370-sv4-000
Thanks in advance

Not that I know of, I believe that was part of the recall for the 3rd Gen TL. Although its similar the pump needs to be taken out.

You need the one closer to the engine which is: 91345-RDA-A01, The one you bought is the for the upper hose thats not the one but its a good idea to replace it while you're there.

Consider purchasing 1 bottle of power steering fluid to replace the fluid lost during the o-ring replacement.
