Help Im Desparte!!! I Have Not Idea!!!!

Hey guys.

im totally in trouble. Today we had the most retarded major dust storm in the world. i swear i thought i was going to die. all i saw was this cloud of dust coming my way. i could not see 2 feet in front of the car. well my car was running good when i left for work. As soon as this dust cloud came it hit my car pretty hard. the whole car shaked and everything. i could not see. But we were all stopped.

after that dust cloud passed. my car started to rev like crazy!!!. like not a 1k rev more like a 3k rev. it revs up and down from 1k to 3k sometimes hitting 4k. I cant keep it from doing it. i had a cold air intake and i thought if i took it off it would help aleviate that problem. but i took the cold air off, diconnected the battery and it still does not idel.. IM going crazy. its sunday acura is closed. Also if was not throwing a CEL when i was going to work. i had to shut the car down completely at every intersection because the car kept reving and so with the tranny in d5 it would jump forward evey time it reved up. so i put it in neutral and it keeps reving to 4k.

im desparte. did i just kill my motor with all the dust?? i took off the manifold cover and cleaned it out. i took out the egr and cleaned that. i dont have the intake on at all and it sounds like its a hoover vaccum!!!. i cant get it to idel and i dont know what else to try and clean. i did not shoot anything in the throttle body yet. im thinking it is the tps or the map sensor that got screwed since maybe some of the dust got in. cause it happened only when this dust cloud came through. When i was driving home it threw a CEL and the car kept reving as usuall. i tried to dump a can of seafoam and it did not help. i dunno what to do.

please help im just frustrated and i have no idea what to do..

Ive been searching on the forums and would it be the IAC Valve?? But it only started reving up and down like this when the dust cloud came through. would dust affect this valve from opperating correctly. ohh i just went to start it up again and the CEL and VSA light is on. the CEL flashed 5 times and turns off. but the VSA stays on all the time. I also noticed the rev is from 1k to 2.5k. it goes up and down up and down. man im so pissed. if i clean out the IAC valve would that help?? im not sure if the IAC Valve would throw a CEL. maybe it will. any other suggestions?? im just tired and irrate.

any advice would be awsome.

Sounds exactly like an IAC issue. Try to take it off and clean it before you go buy a new one.

remove Throttle Body assembly
turn over
remove screws holding small cover on
remove IAC and clean with carb cleaner
replace and tighten
Spray liberally into TB towards the plate- open and close plate to clean edges
wipe loose dirt if able- spray more- let dry- install

Send your car some ~Aloha~!
Do a battery disconnect, or pull fuse #8 clock backup fuse to reset the ecu-
never hurts to try everything!
How does the air filter look??- it should have kept the really bad stuff out

Also once done cleaning every thing give the IAC just a quick spray of wd40 to keep it lubricated.

Well the IAC Valve was the culprit for the reving!!!. DOH i should have checked the forums before i put it back together. dam. when i reclean the valve ill shoot some WD on there. so the idle is good, I also sucked a whole can of seafoam just to clean out the motor from all the dust and junk. cleaned out the top part of the intake manifold. scraped up all the black carbon that was building up in the top part. man that crap is nasty stuff.

The car drives great now. but I still have a slight problem now. I did reset the ECU and i took off the battery while i was working on the IAC valve. ohh yeah i could not get the throttle body off the intake manifold. that thing was on there. i was taping it with a dead blow hammer and it still did not move. i took all the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, map sensor, all the lines and everything, no budge. i didnt want to hit it with the screw driver so i just unscrewed the IAC valve with a angle philips. But after i got that all cleaned i put everything back together and it started just like normal.

But after all that cleaning and resetting, the VSA and the triangle "!" sign is on now. i noticed when i turn the key to the on position and i dont start the car i hear something in the engine compartment click. just like a valve with a ball in it or something. i hear the fuel pump then click click. it happens every time i turn the key to the on position. does anyone know what the hell is that now?? the car drives fine but the stupid lights are on. im not sure if the VSA is malfunctioning?? anyone had this problem?? Do i need to buy a new relay for the VSA??

Man this thing is one problem after the next. thank god i put back the stock intake box now. i think im going to try and find the comptech one. that way i dont have to worry about sucking a dust bunny!!

but if anyone can chim in on how to reset that VSA (TCS) light that would be great.

Well i bought a OBDII scan tool and i plugged it in and its reading nothing.. so im still stuck on why the VSA and the "!" triangle symbol sign is still on solid.. When ever i turn the key to ignition on i still hear the clucking noise from inside the bay. i think its this active bypass valve? its a valve looking thing near the firewall. there is a bracket holding it on to the valve cover near the rear. It think it might be either that or there is something more towards the back that has a cable attached to it. it looks like it opens and closes or pulls something shut or open. im stuck already. i dont want to take it in to acura cause they are going to rape me just to check the system. anyone knows what this could be???HELP!!!!
