Help Engine light + VSA

So i've been searching and have found nothing on this topic.
I was driving on the highway all of a sudden the VSA light is on along with Engine light. It continued to drive normally. I was able to drive home. I turned off the car and then turned it back on this time the VSA light was off but the engine light came on. I've already had my transmission changed back in 05'. I really hope this isnt my transmission. If you have any ideas what it could be, please let me know

It may very well be a tranny issue, The P0740 CEL loves to come on during highway cruising speeds while in D5. The VSA and ! light turning off after re starting the car along with the CEL code leaves me to belive its a p0740 which is TCC CLUTCH SYSTEM FAILURE. Bring your car in rite away to the dealership just to et the code scanned if it is your tranny, fight for one to be goodwilled if you are out of warrranty.

have a shop pull the check engine light code and the post up what it is. we can help you diagnose what it is. if the transmission wasnt acting up i wouldnt really worry about it.

This used to happen to me ALL the time. I recently got this issue fixed. It could probably me a simple misfire in one of your cylinders. Have someone run the codes and we'll go from there.

Get the codes read. Some parts stores will do it for free.

PUCK!!!!!!!! P0740. Its a sad day for my Aspec. I was able to drive it back home, no warning lights. i'm not gonna drive it for awhile. My honda mechanic suggested doing three tranny flushes. Lets see how that goes.

Its weird though ive driven 154000 km since they replaced my transmission back in 05'. and that died at 96000 km I thought they might have fixed this shit. I thought I was good. I would love to do the manual conversion. My car is in beautiful mint condition. It just sucks knowing if i do put in a new Auto transmission, that this shit is gonna happen all over again.

If anyone knows a shop in the Toronto area that can do the conversion please let me know.

Xenologics,

I am now joining you with your pain man.

I just had the code show up this week and almost immediately, have obvious issues.

I can't shift into anything past 2nd gear without it taking a while. I'm leaning towards the pressure issue as you can tell when it finally builds it up and engages you get power...but then it loses it again.

Here's to hoping it's s simple fix and not a new tranny.

This will sound weird but I just had the same problem. According to the manual the reason the VSA light came on is due to low oul level. There VSA is controlled by engine oil. I added a quart of oil after pulling over and the vsa light went out and has not come back on in over three days. My engine oil level was not quite low but getting there just above the bottom hole on the dip stick. Now the check engine light came on and stayed on but i cleared the code (which was a vsa circuit malfunction) and have been fine since. Good Luck
