Got my first CEL...YAY :) (J/K)
It is P013802 and P013602. From what I gather, a O2 sensor is having high voltage. I checked the links, which are either a 404 error or dead (maybe we should re-look at our FAQ?) I googled it, which said bank one sensor two. I am pretty sure that its a bad sensor, but which one? Can someone help me figure out if its the one in my cat or somewhere else? Thanks in advance...
(also, I have used aftermarket sensors in H cars with good luck in the past, any recommendations on a brand that works better than others? not needing an OEM, I can hardwire it myself...)

That would be the one on the catalytic converter. Inspect the wiring for damage.
As for aftermarket stuff, its better to do it right the first time get OEM stuff.
But if you have one laying around give it a shot and see if the codes come back.

the front O2 sensor is most likely to wear out- it tells the ecu what the mix is coming OUT of the engine, and the rear sensor cks that the cat is taking out the bad things.
They both report to the ecu, same as all sensors
DENSO is the stock OE brand and found at all parts stores, plug and play
reminder to reset ECU after O2 sensor install by removing clock fuse on passenger end of dash for a minute and reinsert

OK, so I'm not the best at updates, but a few weeks ago I went to get the Denso universal and it was about $65. The guy asked me what it was for and I told him, so like all auto parts guys, he looked it up. Long story short, the OEM factory replacement Denso with harness was only $42!!! I checked them both, and they were the same one, but for some reason Advanced had the OEM with the harness for over $20 less than the universal. I'm no idiot, bought the OEM, plug and play about 20 minutes later, no new CEL to date. Just wanted to let you guys know that apparently you can get some pretty good deals on factory replacement parts at certain auto parts stores. Last I needed a OEM O2 sensor it was over $100. Just my .02...
Denso is the factory supplier of the O2 sensors, available everywhere and ready to plug and play- reset ECU and enjoy
if O2 failure look for why- use of 87 gas? never run fuel cleaner? or just age 150kmile??

She's an old lady. She never knew at 150K she would be getting a whole new lease on life. So some of her parts can't keep up...I'll keep her going. An old man in a stock TL-S sat next to me at a light this morning and rolled his window down and asked me how many miles. I told him 150K, he smiled and said 170K. I told him I knew some people who had well over 300K. His eyes got huge. I'm not sure he believed me. Unless someone hits the snot out of her, I'll keep her around for a bit longer...
Is your car a 2nd gen tl? If so, it doesn't have a bank 2 sensor 1, as fsttyms1 explained in a previous post. There is sensor 1, and sensor 2, also referred to as upstream, and downstream, or primary and secondary.
Do you have the code? It sounds EXACTLY like my issue. $45 at Advance Auto and 20 minutes later and you can be CEL free, like me! (in my best Sham-wow guy voice...)
DO buy the OE brand DENSO for total plug and play- its the commonly stocked part locally
get the special tool for 10 bucks as well- make life much easier and return your arm with most of the layers of skin intact- one plug is way up there
front O2 sensor is primary and reads whats coming out of the engine- it adjust all the parameters of timing and fuel air delivery to reduce emissions
While the rear sensor reads the output of the cat- monitoring its correct operation of reduction of certain gasses
The front does the real work, and is normal to replace at some point- mpg usually goes up!
for reference other make cars require O2 sensors every 50kmiles
we go till it fails 100-150
Use of good fuel cleaner like bg44 or seafoam used a few times a year helps keep the O2 clean and accurate
