J/k but I don't think I have revved the engine past 3500rpms lately this week and by not doing so, I have gain some mpg's! I now fill up about when the odo trip meter hits 369miles!! I use to fill up when it hit 280miles or so...cause I vtec the bitch almost every time I move the car when possible.

Due to the asshole gas price increases (which are insane for premium), i have not revved past 3500rpms in any gear. How sad is that!

 

im somewhere between 250 & 280... I need to get on your plan.

 

i know what you mean man only take it to the beggining of vtec 4800-5000rmp in 2nd gear tiprtronic and ease of and drop into 3rd then 4th to conserve gas. But i still floor the shit outta it 1 out of 7 stops

 

I drove the dog shit out of my car on the way home tonight. I wanted to beat the rain...

Probably wasted $10 or so on gas. :o

I'm so glad this engine has such a nice torque curve. I mean, I really don't have to floor the damn car to get it to move. It does move when you want it to very smoothly without hitting past 4000rpm. It is totally unecessary to hit VTEC when driving this 6-speeder but then again, hehe :P it's fun!

Yea, gas prices are just insane. I don't know what the big dealio is..but I want that 3 cylinder cut off technology coming up and possible hybrid combined with that 3cylinder cutoff system would be great.

Funny thing is when I pull up to Costco gas pump, I see these big ass SUVs, and i know they are getting ass fxxked big time.

Hurry up with those HYBRID hondas...even my lawn mower is not getting used that often now...

 

I can't wait for the gas prices to come down. I mean I used to only run premium gas when I first got my ride, but now it's like almost $2.40 for premium and I drive about 50 miles to work one way. I feel bad but I have been putting plus in it now.

my dad just got the honda civic hybrid and he is getting great milage out of it, last weekend he got like 65 mpg. Shit it's got me thinking of getting one real soon.

vtec feels so goooooood........ must use vtec......ooooo, i just had a tsx loaner for a week and the mileage was awesome it took forever to bring the gauge from half way down to almost empty. I get shitty mileage in my cl-s around 230-240 on a full tank of 91...

 

i need to stop using vtec also its killer on the wallet when gas is $2.00+

 

I can't stay out of vtec. No matter how hard i try it just never works out as planned.

it seems to come in waves, one group of newbies shows up, uses stupid phrases like "im vtec-ing" or "i v-tec-ed my car" etc and then someone has to explain that they sound like fools and then they learn and shut up....then a few months later, we have a new crop of "vtec-ers" you guys make it sound like its hitting a nitrous button or something, lol. vtec is not a VERB. its the name of a technology. christ, its not even a real WORD, its an ACRONYM. it cannot and should not be used as a verb.
