Gas gauge issues........
Whenever i fill up my guage really never goes to full. It sits around 3/4 left, and it has only gone to full once since ive had the car and that as after it was turned off and turned back on. What is this problem?

id say it may be the sending unit in the tank. Also do you stop filling as soon as the automatic shut off triggers or do you continue on a few times after?

worst case scenario: you need to change your float and sender, but the good news is that it's easy to do on the tl since the access panel is right in the trunk. i had to drop the tank on my girlfriends ford tempo to do hers several years ago and i swore after that that if i ever had to do it again i would sawzall an access in the trunk for myself.

Bulletin # 99-036 Price on this part is around $120.00 and if you do it yourself thats not too bad of a cost. all depends on how picky you are. You might just want to live with an inaccurate fuel gauge

To correct your problem you will need to replace the fuel gauge sending unit.
Part # 17630-S0K-A51
You can get to it from the the trunk, I can fax you a copy of the bulletin.

Had the exact same thing happen to me on my 99. $280 later I had a new sending unit installed. Almost three years now since the replacement and it still works like a charm.

did you by chance tune your car using hondata? It so that's your issue.
