Fog Light Mod MaDneSS!!!

Ok, so I was having the issue that some of us had with the fog light mod. When arming the car, the right headlight would flicker. I know I did the mod right, there are only two wires (3 and 4) that need to be spliced together. I did that over 2 years ago but always had that flicker issue.

So, I decided to undo the mod today. Now, my indicator light to tell me the fogs are on is no longer illuminating???? I know it was working before I un-did the mod.

Another strange thing. I bought and installed my Philips 6000K bulbs for my headlights about a month ago. I thought they were considerably less bright than the 4300K. So I put some new 4300K's back in after that. Today, I decided to put the 6000K's back in after I un-did the fog light mod as a little test. Now that removed the mod, my 6000K's seem much brighter!! Call me crazy, but I am very particular about stuff like this and I am 95% sure they are brighter.

Does anyone know if the mod in any way can affect power to the ballasts??

So now, I still need to figure out why my indicator light no longer comes on. The fog light emblem glows when I have dash lights on, just not the center green light???

Any thoughts are welcome!

Yeah, I checked the high beams and everything. I had the mod in for two years or so. I knew something was strange with the flickering. I finally undid the mod because I was concerned that the flickering could cause a problem for my ballasts, especially the right headlight ballast. I usually did turn off the headlights, but I figured I would undo the mod for awhile.

I find it odd that the light would stop working as soon as I did un-did the mod. The only thing I can think of is the power in the wires blew it out or when I removed the switch to undo the mod, the vibration may have broke the light. I assume that light can be replaced somehow. Does anyone know?

Yeah, I went to Acura today to get a new bulb. They want..get this...$12 for the green bulb that is for the "on" indicator light and $2 for the off white color bulb that goes on the bottom of the switch to illuminate the fog lamp switch for the dash. Guess what, I just got the $2 bulb and put it in. I'm not paying $10 extra dollars just to have it green. It's sorta orange color now when the fogs are on, looks kind of cool. Since I have yellow fogs, it makes sense. It still seems to me that fog light mod is restricting power to my headlights. Can't tell for sure, but now that the mod is out, my headlights don't flicker and they seem brighter. I dunno..weird.

A.) Carefully pry/pull out the switch and pull it out. Once out you will see the bulb socket.

or

B.) Remove lower dash knee pad and reach hand up and push switch out.
