Engine Shuts Off While Driving 1999 TL

plS I really need some help ? my acura keeps shutting off while driving on the highway. i just bought a new battery and i have taking it to autozone and the Alternator was checked and nothing was wrong. This week has not be fun at all driving and the engine so pls i really need some urgent suggestion.

That should be the first thing to check. Call Acura or register on Acura's Owner Link page to see if the recall was completed for your TL.

And even if your TL had a new ignition switch installed under the recall, the replacement could be failing. My 1999 TL is on its third ignition switch.

Unhappy Ignition switch

I agree that ignition switch is the problem. I'll be going back to the dealer for the 2nd replacement of the switch in my car(1999 TL with 132K miles) this week. I just hope the dealer does not give me any static and this time the switch works. This is kind of aggravating. But I'm guess I'm not alone. I was wondering did the 3rd generation TL had the same problem ?

i just want to thank u all for all ur help and suggestion cos it was really the ignition switch . After i change it everything is working fine.

Factory recall replaced 5 years ago. Now started shutting off on me again (currently 232K). I replaced the ignition switch myself and it fixed the problem. I guess you were right about the replacement failing.
