take it to a parts store and ask for a code reading--its free
report back the letter number combination found

more info like year miles anything else acting up will help figure out the problem

were you doing anything strange like 2nd gear 60 mph?
or minding you own business in D5 cruising... or getting on freeway??

the p03xx codes are misfire codes. i just encountered a similiar issue. a new ignition coil fixed the problem.

this'll help you out...

I was thinking the single coil failure.. causes multi cyl misfire
Done a spark plug change recently?

there are several threads on this subject and ways to test which coil.. if thats the prob

its most likely 1 coil is failing, the other threads will guide you thru how to find which one
Buy a coil from parts store- about 50 bucks

whats the cars mileage now?
ckd any other parts like spark plugs to see if they have ever been replaced?

do NOT drive in SS mode of the trans at 60 in 2nd,,thats going to cause probs with the trans at the least
thats got to be close to redline,,ok to go there and shift up, but sustained high rpm lower gears is not ok

until you learn the secrets of the cars operation-and trans issues..
leave the trans in normal D5 mode..right side of shifter..let the car drive itself,, easy on everything~

I bet it has the original plugs since the book allows them to go to 105 but the reality is the car runs better with new ones after 60-70kmiles
So thats one thing to consider,,if they are toast they can generate a misfire code
use NGK Iridium, iridium IX or platinum
car came with plats but gen3 has irids and we can use them as an upgrade in quality of plug--about 8 bucks each

are you on 91 octane gas ONLY,,or 94 if thats what is premium in your area

register with `acura care` USA 1 800 382 2238 x5 gets a human
canada ziners use 1 888 9acura9,,has different website too
have cars VIN in hand-tell them you are the new owner and need a `recall ck`,,make sure all are completed and any warranty repair history they can tell you about

also reg on their website ,,you can store the radio and nav codes there for safety
http://owners.acura.com/registration...istration.aspx
allows you access to the entire owner operator book- the TL has many trick systems including how to use the trans,,,the auto climate control,,nav, abs system-traction control that activates a brake on spinning wheel and much more

congrats on your purchase!

my suggestion is remove a front plug and inspect for wear
replace them, run seafoam thru the tank and manifold
and do the coil test procedures

note- reset ECU after you find a dead coil,.remove the `CLOCK fuse` on passenger end of dash for 1 minute,,that forces a master reset and system test..like pulling the plug from the wall on your home PC
It clears all the codes so you start fresh on diagnostics to see if its fixed

we will get you thru this no sweat and make your baby purr

hint: if you are pulling the plugs to replace--the wet or dirty one is the failed coil

trick seen on nascar to find dead cylinder:
touch a crayon to the header outlet from manifold
where it doesnt melt --is the cold cyl!!

if you own an infrared temp sensor-guage, the cold pipe is the one
