Brake Problems

I have a 03 acura tl s-type. It has about 64,000 miles on it. The problem I am having is that my brake pads are gone front and back. My question is that should i go to the dealership and get them replaced and put on or should i go elsewhere and get aftermarket parts... If so, what kind of brand should i get? Which one would one be cheaper. which one would be better?

I appreciate the responses..

go with aftermarket rotors like brembo, irotor, etc. oem pads, or akebono pads , or ceremic pads will work.

i use raybesto quiet stop ceramic pads. the are like 40 for the front set and about 22 for the back set. they are cheap and last really long.

Most aftermarket pads will chew up the softer OEM rotors very fast. Aftermarket pads work best with aftermarket rotors.

Akebono ProAct does not have that high of friction coefficient to chew up rotors. It just have better pad material and performs well when the pad is cold as well as when it is hot.

I have the rotora slotted and just put on the EBC Greenstuffs.
Love the combo. Even thought the rotors are under warranty, I would get the aftermarket rotors to go with the pads.

Your pads are probably down to the nibins, the sensors are letting you know that. Time to change out your front pads. BTW...changing out the pads yourself if very easy to do. Beleive it is a 14mm wrench, 17mm wrench, c-clamp (for piston compression). Do it yourself & save yourself a lot of cash, very simple to do.
