The past few weeks my Brake light has been dimmed (sometimes I can barely see it, sometimes its a little brighter) when driving. When I use the e-brake then it is bright red (Like its suppose to be). When i let go then it is dimmed. I just checked the light bulb and switched it when another one and it does the same thing. Whats going on with my Brake light??

ck the fluid level in brake master cyl- should be very close to the top--to the neck
If low- have brakes checked

Ck the slider sensor inside the res cap, does it move freely?
How does the fluid look? ever change the brake fluid?
Are the brakes holding solid at a stop or does the pedal go down to the floor

 

Check the switch for the emergency brake- may need to be adjusted.

 

would that make it come on dim then bright?

note- due to lawyers, it no longer called an `Emergency Brake`

its only a Parking brake,,and not much of one at that--just mini drum brakes inside the rear rotor

 

could just need a new cap if its level sensor is dieing =$35

 

Lately , my brake lamp in dash start to light up sometime .
Did check the fluid is OK ...Suspect the sensor in Res. Cap .
Do anyone know how the sensor works ? I see some fluid inside the sensor cyl.
It's normal to have fluid inside the tube ?
