Best solution for cracked fog light lense?

Just wondering what do you think the best solution is for fixing a broken fog light lense? Both of mine are cracked and I did read somewhere that you can just replace the lense but wasn't sure if that's the best route to take. I'm thinking of purchasing new ones and put the rock block film on them but don't know if that's even worth the expense.

If I do the lense replacement I'm thinking I should spray the housing black first. I haven't seen one like that so I might just go for it since mine are in really bad shape. Thoughts?

You have a few options. Replace it with oem parts, then put rock blockers on it. I used to use clear static clings and it works just fine. Or, purchase lexan plexiglass from homedepot, cut them to fit the lenses, or purchase the lexan from online, like ebay and use silicone to seal them.

Thanks, love the Tranny Loaner avatar. I don't think I'm up for the task of cutting the plexiglass but I'm sure that's a lot cheaper than the other options. I'm sure it will be a weekend task.

Most buy the plexi and cut it to fit and pull the oem stuff off. Its the best option other than buying new.

I bought the hand metal jigsaw at 99cents store, and it cut the plexiglass decently good and quick. The saw blade width itself is about 1/8 of an inch, that allows you cut the lense with a curvy line. Make a lense template out of a cardboard that fits nicely in the housing, then transfer that template to the plexiglass and cut it. I used the rotary tool, but it makes the smell, so I used the jigsaw and metal file to smooth the edge and it works just fine. It probably takes me about 15min to cut one lense by hand. I used the 1/2" Binder Paper Clips, the regular black one, to hold the lense to the housing while the silicon is curing in the sun. Once everything sealed nicely, if not put more silicon on it, I prefer to wait for it to dry so it wont stick on the stainless steal frame but you don't have to wait for it to dry this time, just put the frame back on and mount it back to the bumper. The first one may take you an hour, but the second cut will be a lot faster.

I was thinking exacto knife would do the trick. Maybe time to invest in a dremel.
