Actuator DIY

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a sweet TL. The only problems I can find with the car are the door locks. After combing this forum, I have determined that the problem is with the actuators. I removed the passenger side door panel to take a look. I was told that I need to remove the window and other things to change the actuator, but I have read here that it would be easy to change it. Would anyone be able to point me to a do-it-yourselfer or advise me.

Thanks in advance!

So you are having problems with ALL the door locks or just 1? What are the symptoms, what is it/they that they arent doing?

The driver's door works with no problem. But the other 3 doors rarely work. I can hear some sort of activity in each door but the locks don't budge... I tried changing the fuse box with the relay to see if there was an electrical problem but no luck, just the same results.

Do you have any problem manually locking it by pushing the lock piece up or down? or is there more resistance than normal? I might pull the panels off and try lubricating all the parts to see if that helps. I find it strange that 3 of them all have issues.

I spoke to Acura yesterday and they said the same thing, all three wouldn't normally go at the same time. I'll try spraying one down with lube. But if that does work, I guess the problem would be with the actuators.

Or the wiring. I would lube every thing up and manually move every thing to make sure it all moves freely.

so would I have to remove the actuator before lubing it? If so, is it a simple job to remove and put back? Any pointers on how I would do this?

TIA
