the temp and gas wont work if u have a 99 and installed a 5spd cluster, trust me i tried, i always hated the italic lettering, only way to do it is by taking apart the face of the gauge, and soldering the metal prong/sticks, the 99 and 00+ is different, take a look at it........to take the gauge face off, pry back the clips........try doing search for "type s gauge cluster" i believe i made a post long time ago bout this

Im wondering if you change the sending unit in the tank with a newer one if they are different and if that will work?

^^ not quite sure but i remember the circut boards in each were different...

someone on another forum, i forgot the name, did a DIY on a 00 gauge cluster, and put a type s cluster, they had to do an extensive amount of work just to get everything working......ill find it later, im at work right now

Some one here did to. They had to put some type of dial resistor in to make it work. It shouldnt have been from a 2000, i thought it was only the 99s that had the difference. (as all my wiring works just fine)

k I did the same thing and my heat gauge doesnt work either. The problem is that the temperature sending units are different on the engines and the cluster. the 99 is deifferent but the 00-03 are the same.
