Wsup guys, my car is at the shop and Im trying to do a 03 front end conversion.. I got all the parts and the shop called me and said that I might need a new radiator support!!!! I know that shit is expensive man. Has anyone done this without changing the support. Cant you just mickey mouse the hood latch or something??? I got the parts from ebay and most of the from insurance. Help. Im open to suggestions......

 

the radiator support is not the same, but you can make yours fit with little effort... the guys at the shop prolly didnt even try to figure a way to make it fit it seems like they were just too lazy... the hood latch will probably have to be modified too (at least they had to mod mine...)...

there are a lot of parts that are not the same... make sure you have them all cuz your car might be sitting in the shop for longer than you had planned.

 

Thanks I have the hood, fenders, bumper, grille and headlights, I didnt think I would need anything else. Yeah Im gonna tell them to finagle it . They shoudl be able to improvise. The latch is nothing, but the radiator support killed me .

Spoke to the shop...they are scared to mess with the radiator support due to "liability issues". Supposedly if my hood flys up on the highway and kills me they can get sued or whatever. They are still working on it and I know these guys so they arent going to charge me my life savings. This conversion is a pain in the ass, but that 02-03 front is so sexy

There is only one right way to do it...and that is what the shop recommended. Change the support out too! Sure...you can do it by tweaking it....but that isnt the right way to do it. It is the cheap way to do it. Now let me ask you...who would you want to buy a car from....they guy who did it right...or the guy who did it cheap? JMHO?

Yeah, ima post the pics right away! I cant wait to get it out already. A shop quoted me $150 to black out the headlights. I wonder if that price is aight? Platano mobile = baja panty mobile = pimp status.... haha.
