Lightbulb rwd conversion ideas

this is basically my idea with no real world experience or knowledge so take it how you will. buy a wrecked v6 awd honda or acura. honda pilot mdx the honda truck etc. modify it to fit into our cars and then convert that to just rwd instead of awd. awd would be a lot heavier and to be honest our cars arent rally platforms. honestly no ones probably going to do this but thats just my idea. if i ever win the lottery ill be doing it though wish me like

I really don't want to come off as a dick, but no.

Unless you're an heir to a fortune 500 company (in that case why invest in a 10 year old car?) The fabrication, the time and the need for custom parts will definitely outweigh the benefits.

The new tl awd systems will need a drive by wire throttle system not to mention using the ecu for those particular setup will want to control more than just the power train.

Two cents: stick with fwd or go to a different platform.

At the current vehicle height, there isn't enough clearance for both the driveshaft and the exhaust plumbing to go underneath the chassis.

So if converted, the "AWD" car will have to be jacked up like a 4X4.

Or you can just turn your driver seat around and make a custom steering column and drive in reverse :P

Ok, let me start by saying the TL and MDX are uni bodies. There is no taking off and modifying to fit. 2nd. Neither the MDX or Pilot are of RWD style trans. They are FWD trans with an output shaft for the rear axles. Cant make it just rwd.

No it wouldnt. The 4g tl isnt jacked up to fit the awd.. Modifications would have to be done to the gas tank and tunnel for the drive shaft to fit with exhaust but it could be done. (as i looked into it once). Getting all the wiring and sensors to operate correctly would be the more difficult thing of adding the shawd system.
