removing headlights

I dont know much about changing parts...I want to remove my headlights because Im going to be buying HID lights (by the way anyone know of any good ones to buy...not to much like around 50 bucks?) and I also want to remove the yellow corner film. I know you have to bake it in the oven and all that, and to remove the lights you need to take off the bumper..but how should i do all this..im a newbie at this sorta stuff. I was able to remove my front license plate no problem, not a big deal. Anyone in SoCal know someone to do the removing of the yellow film or whataver? im in thousand oaks...thanks!

do it yourself and save the hassle of taking it to a shop and paying someone. Taking the bumper off really isn't that hard, takes about 20 minutes... clearing out you lights will take alot longer, probably 4+ hours. Take your time and use the Nissan Rubber Butyl to re-seal them. Oh and your lights will stay put once the bumper is off as they are bolted in.

Pretty much what they said....
The bumper comes off in minutes, and if you cant get it off and on yourself, you definitely should not be baking your lights.

Its really easy. Its 2 bolts under the bumper, 2 phillips head screws (one in each wheel well), 4 clips under the bumper, and a few more clips under the hood that hold the wing piece on. Then it just pulls off, towards the front of the car, but dont pull too hard because you need to un-clip the wire harness for the foglights.

As for your lights, I have a DIY on the diy sticky page for blacking the lights out, same concept. I would recommend that you use a heat gun though.

Here's a better DIY showing how to do every step, including removing the bumper.

You can always pick up a set of used headlights to work on and switch them out once you get them done that way you won't have to be without the car. At first i was like you afraid of messing it up but i gave it a shot and they turned out great, just be patience and take it one step at a time.

Bumber removal is very easy just couple of bolts and bunch of clips comes off in a few minutes. I left all my clips on the bottom off to make it easier in the future.

why would you want to remove the lens and make the turn signals illegal?

You do realize we already have HIDs? There arent any that are brighter than we already have. If you feel the need to replace them replace them with teh stock K bulb.
