Not sure on Halferland either, as I'm not on fb, twitter or other social media. I've seen some of his youtube vids. Basically a one man shop, operating out of his house. Time will tell on the parts I guess.

So probably no one is gonna try this combo besides me, but a j35a8 crank with a j37 snout spacer effectively measures the same length as a j32a2 snout. Was doubtful at first cuz the spacer seems so thin. One step closer...

Dude, this build is awesome!! How did you get a fresh j35a8 block? If so, did it come with the three piston oil squirters?
So glad more people are building thier J series, its a great platform! Just too many Armchair mechanics and youngsters who dont know how/ too oppressed with social media to learn.

Sorry to hijack the thread but has anyone mated the j35a3 to an av6 trans? I know the blocks for the j35a1/a2 and the j35a3 are the same block and I also know that the av6 is a match made in heaven for the a1’s and 2’s- just wanted to know if their similarities included the BAYA trans. Thank you.

Hi. Is it actually possible to use J35 rods with a 3.7 crank? I've got a J32/J35 hybrid (J35A1 block, crank, rods, J32A2 pistons, heads, cams), I spun a bearing, the crank is apparently cracked (as in has micro cracks in it) and can't be used, and I'm wondering if I can just throw in a 3.7 crank (which I can get fairly easily), or if I need to replace the rods as well. Replacing the rods means the job will be a lot more expensive.

j32a2/j37 frank build
OK
Let me chime in here..
Most of us don't even think about boosting the J the price for the Custom Headers and Piping far exceeds the needs for most..
So there aren't any debates about being "Iron/Steel" vs "Fibrous Metal" here
The J32 and J35 Block are exactly the same in dimensions so you could by piece of mind just use the J32 Block/Heads and interchange the J35 Crank and Rods to make it a 3.XL.. If your using Aftermarket pistons its fairly easy then to clear the bigger J32 Valves which could become a problem with the stock MDX Pistons.
3.X Builds:
J32 Block + J35 Crank/Rod = 3.5L with Higher Redline.
J32 Block + J35 Crank/Rod + Milled down J32 Heads = 3.5L Type-S
J32 Block/Head + J35 Crank/Rod + 3G TL Pistons = 3.6L Type-S
J32/J35 Block + J32 Heads + J37 Crank + RL Pistons and Rods = 3.7L Type-S Ultimate Extravaganza..
While I might be wrong somewhere I believe its basically "it".. If anything Fatty should chime in too about it since he has build the 3.7L.

New to this whole J series world... I have a j32a2 and I managed to get a j37 crank... besides pistons, rods, p2r snout spacer and other things... I am unsure of which journals and rod bearings to use ... can anyone shed some light on their build??? not much info on this... and I apologize for the noob question
