Wiring in Homelink/Map Light assembly

Hey guys, I'm looking to find out if anyone knows about the wiring system in the map lights and homelink. I need positive and negative wires to hook up an emergency light (volunteer fireman). Can anyone tell me how to remove the sunglass holder, map light, and homelink assembly? BTW its for a 03 TLS.

Does anyone have suggestions on where else I can grab a power lead?

Thanks!

I have lights in my car (Police) Get a toggle switch, use the black space to the left of the steering wheel, mount it there, get power from underneath the foot well, and use a visor strobe over the passangers side. Also, just put the light in the window and use the cig power for it.

You can use a 12v spade connector on the back of the fuse panel (driver's left side) and run a wire up the A-pillar (under the cover..the cover snaps right off.) Then run the wire under the headliner edge to wherever you mount your light. I would make sure you aren't drawing too much power off the connector. I have this setup for my Passport and the wire stays nicely hidden.
