I just went test out my car's 0-60 w/ a stopwatch and it ran best 7.5 seconds. Is it my car or is the stopwatch too fast??? I brake torqued at 1500-2000 and that's the time. Man...doesnt sound good at all..

Where you holding the stop watch, or was a passenger?

If it was you, you could have been distracted with looking outside than actually driving.

If it was a passenger he or she may have had a skewed view of the speedometer.

Tick Tock

Dude,

Yeah...you wouldn't believe how fast a second goes by when you're not paying attention. Hehe...

Too many variables to point out, like Malcom wrote, which could have affected your results.

Maybe Acura got their results by pushing the car off a cliff. LOL. Regardless...I still dig my car's acceleration...1 second be damned.

you WILL NOT get an accurate 0-60 time by watching the speedometer and using a stopwatch. That's ridiculous.

Get yourself a G-Tech/PRO for godsakes!

I can't even set my watch accurately when I listen to the hourly beep on a news radio station, and this guy thinks he can clock his 0-60 time...

GTEC not acurate either, it said my 540i hit 1/4 mile in 13.37 seconds. Only accuracy is...go to the track my friend.

You guys w/ your stopwatch timing methods crack me up!!!

LOL!

What a joke... I love it how you act all concerned and worried, as if you actually may have debunked C&D, MT, and R&T's times for the TL-S.

"Uhhh, hey Billy-bob, it says here that this here Tee-Ell-Ess runs to 60 in 6.28 seconds .. why'm I gettin' 9.6 yer think??"

"Gee Jethro, may-hab yawl shudn't be countin' like yer doin': "one-one thousand, two-one thousand.. "

Try it again, but next time wait a little longer before pressing the button to begin timing. I did it this way and my car did 0-60 in 4.8 seconds! Pretty cool, huh?

Zero to ?? timer Option for TLS

From the tone on this forum, Acura needs to add another killer option (besides the NAVI) for the TLS. Add a couple of buttons next to the odometer reset buttons that you set for start and end speed. It would be tied to the speedometer/odometer, and could set and time any interval down to .0001 second. You could even have a top-ten score where you enter your initials, deduct points for speeding tickets, etc.

Take the stop watch and start and stop it as fast as you can, then do it just slightly slower... You will be quite surprised that the difference will be .25 to .75 - the human hand can no way be accurate for what you want to know... Take $150 and get a
G-Tech and have some fun.......

I do not doubt the accuracy of a stop watch, although errors may occur to kill accurarcy. However, the weight of the driver really matter.

latitude, humidity and temperature will all affect the performance of the engine. I will not concern if I were you.
