VSA Problem! Please Help!!!

Hey guys, I've put up with this problem long enough....I took it into service and several codes came up in dealing with my VSA, I'll try to find those codes if yall need them....here's what it's doing

I'm driving and take a turn kind of hard and my VSA will over compensate and lock up my back right tire for a split second, not enough to endanger me but enough to give it a twitch...if I do this a few times it'll automatically turn itself off and wont do it any more....I've just gotten into the habit of turning it off every time I get into my car and it will never happen

Is there a VSA sensor that went bad or something? The brakes are fine (gotten them checked out) and there's nothing binding on the back right wheel.....thanks guys!!!

VSA has a black box control module that interprets readings from sensors. Maybe this is the culprit?

Before we assume something like that, though, are you having any ABS issues, like the ABS light coming on or anything? If not then it rules out speed sensors.

Thanks for the responses guys! I've already had them reset the system and it continued after only 60 miles...I believe I've had ABS problems in the past now that I think about it although the ABS light never is lit....hope this helps narrow it down

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever find the problem? I have my VSA light come on often now and stay on until I restart the system (fault code P0108). I think it might be a sensor or something and am trying to fix it.

I did clean the rear sensors, but the front ones were difficult to remove, so I didn't get to them for fear of breaking the plastic housing.

Any help or additional info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I have not fixed the problem. it looked like it's going to be an expensive fix so I just simply turn it off everytime I get in the car. I wish I'd figure out it's a cheap simple fix, I'd be glad to do it then!

There's a sensor that measures how many g's the car is pulling; it could be giving an incorrect reading.

There should be some codes if the light is on? I don't know how to get them, though.

i had a similar problem. both, my VSA and ABS lights were on and i took it to acura and they told me that i needed to replace one of my speed sensors and one of my bearings was messed up. it cost around 400 something to fix but i had to get it done. hopefully that's not the same issue that you have but this is just an idea of what it can be. hope this helps. good luck with that.

Well, I had that problem of the VSA and the ABS light staying on. It happened when I touched the brakes ... intermittently and then more frequently. I checked the sensors, cleaned them to no avail ... then I read about the brake module going bad and needing replaced, so I took it in to Acura.

It ended up being a brake switch ... they replaced it and smooth sailing. I have the service manual and it never even mentioned that, so there you go. It could be a bunch of things, they also pulled the codes, which I could not get in detail, I could only pull the basic OBD codes with my generic reader.

Good luck, it was covered under my extended warranty btw @ 56k miles.
