Transmission is fubar

Well the tranny issue has made its way to my car now and the waiting game begins....they had ten other cars in for tranny related issues and i saw one car at the dealer waiting for a new set of headlights.I also spotted another tl with its lights ripped out as i was leaving the deli today at lunch time.I hope its a new tranny with the fix and not some refurb.

Well, I found this website only because our 2003 TL-S is sitting at the dealership after having to be towed due to transmission problems. It appears that there are issues - wish I had known that before. I love the car, not thrilled about this. They have to replace the transmission and I will be without the car for at least a week. They had no reasons as to what had happened.

Damn Bailey and you don't even drive the TL-S that much either. Sorry to hear about that.

If you miss it so much, you can borrow my TL and I can take the NSX off your hands.

As an update on my 2002 TL-S, I went to Smithtown Acura yesterday, and I almost KNEW they wouldn't find anything, as the transmission behaved better than a Boy Scout on Merit Badge Day! The rep checked it out, asked me if the car was driveable (I answered I'm not too sure) and told me to monitor it so I knew full well that without them seeing the problem for themselves they wouldn't do anything.
On the way home, the transmission started that 2-3 mis-shift where the tach revs to five thousand RPM's with little forward motion on the car's part--I backed off the gas pedal immediately and returned to Acura--I explained that I didn't want to be a pain in the A$$ but it did it again and could I please have someone go WITH me? The guy at the counter said it isn't necessary, and filled out a form to order a new transmission (he said new, it may be re-built). I will be given a loaner. I will keep you posted as to the results. The service department has been very co-operative and diplomatic thus far. If you can't have a perfect transmission, the next best thing is to have a dealer who will do what it must to correct the situation.

I've gotta think that you now hold the record for the most transmissions in a TL. How many miles are on it?

3rd 51.5k 09/08/03
4th 51.8k current

the 3rd tranny apparently was bad from the get go, it was making a "flat tire" sound. thump thump thump I'd like to thump thump thump the lazy ass who built it
