transmission fluid flushing procedure

hi all, i'm new to this forum and to owning a rice burner.my very own first one .all my vehicles are old american made with over 200k+ miles.good pieces of junk.they don't build em' like that especially my 87' crown vic country squire lx wagon..that things got at least 300k on it and runs great mechanically once i fix the electronic/electrical issue to keep it running.i've done the flush while engine running procedure and it didn't hurt it.although it's not the original which blew out because of a rubber grommet that fell off the armature of the kick down band of the tranny.i did this procedure prior to installing a used tranny before installing it.ok so enuff of that here's the email i sent to acura ..the second time and am currently waiting for a reply from them--.well this sucks cause no one from acura has answered my question about my transmission fluid and filter and flush procedure.despite reading the owners manual on this topic i have a question because it says to flush in the manual.flushing old trannies out with pressure is a no no so is letting the pump while the car is running do the work with the proper fittings, waste container and fill at the same time through the oil hole. one line usually the bottom one disconnected at the radiator or it's own cooler be safer to flush it all out including the torque converter?..or is it safer to drain, fill, drive( i don't know how many miles),drain, fill, drive, drain, fill drive and finally drain, change filter and fill?this fluid is very dark to almost black with 271,000 miles on it.what should i do because it's shifting is not so great sometimes?thanks.

yes? what more did you want?

flushes are not recommended so draining and filling is the safest choice for our transmissions. I'd do the drains and fills over 3 oil changes and at that point, you should have sufficiently clean fluid in your car

this is the recommended method on this forum. I personally do a single ATF drain/fill every time I change oil (8000 miles / annually).

my manual only gives instructions to drain/fill (total of four times) if you put the wrong ATF in.

The 3x3 method; tried and true.

Sometimes (actually often) the best solutions are the simplest.

thanks acurazine i lost this whole reply i typed,it was drafting as i typed but something went wrong and logged me off when i hit the send button. i had this crazy idea about trying to rig up a backfill on the supply side of the tranny cooler before it enters it while activating the shift solenoids or is this how it's done at a shop idk .i know it would be expensive if they do it like this.i also know that doing flushes is bad too i guess if it's done on the return side.that would accomplish nothing i'm assuming,if that's how they really do it.if it's not and they do it the right way it shouldn't hurt the tranny at all..the easiest i would say based on the best answer given above by white tiger 5 would be that.simple tried and true method if that fails then a professional flush is what i'll have to do but i'll do it myself to save the money but not the time..i like doing things myself even if it's blood ,sweat and tears sometimes..i just hope it helps it in addition to replacing the front motor mount. i know that causes exhaust flex pipe failure and tranny jerk issues.thanks for the advice.3x3 is the cheapest easiest and first to try before brainstorming a fix.

and affordable if you buy the fluid from an online retails like oem acura parts.

Fluid runs almost twice as much at my local dealer.
