Quick tranny fluid question..
Quick tranny fluid question..
WHo here checks the fluid with the engine on? I know some Honda/Acura are suppose to have it on and at least at opertating temp?
I seem to be low regardless, do I just fill right up on the tube that the dipstick goes out of? the manual says the filler tube so just assuming thats it...thanks

youll never get an accurate reading when the car is running. always check after the car has been sitting for a while and that the car is on a flat surface.
before you go and fill your tranny fluid, do what i said, last thing you want is too much oil and cause your gaskets to blow.

Check the ATF with the engine warmed-up, but not running. Doesn't need to sit with the engine off more than a few seconds before checking. Parked on level ground. If low fill through the dipstick tube.
...and too much fluid will not cause "gaskets to blow". Not good to be overfilled for sure, as it can cause fluid foaming and poor shift quality.
