Transmission DANGEROUS~

I have a 2003 3.2 tl ... 6 months old...... This car almost killed me due to transmission locking up ....driving 60 miles an hour and the transmission locks! Bout threw me threw the winsheild 6 times ..my tires actually had marks when they replaced my transmission ..THEY GAVE me NEW tires only needed the two front ,but they threw the two back ones on for free ..

I swear the car gave me whiplash and it is a miracle the csr didn't flip ...the service guy who drove it to see if there was REALLY a problem said he'd never seen anything like it ,but he stated it bout put him through the windsheild going only 30 mph!

And ACura says' they are clueless to these transmission problems and it's the forst time they saw a car do what mine did

bs I have heard numerous times of trannys locking up on the freeway or switching from 4th or 5th gear directly into second with no warning at all.

I hope they get your tranny fixed (correctly)

Hey... They gave me a new transmission...had it back for about a week seems ok ..but I am scared to death it will happen again... I can't tell you how lucky I was not to have flipped the car..but you could only know if this happened to you ..my tires actually made noise like I was slamming on my brakes ,but it was the transmission locking probabllly at more then 65mph..I tend to drive fast ,but I am very scared now and my neck is sooooo screwed up ... I told the dealership about my neck they said talk to the main acura place..but I don't even know how to find that ,all I see is acura dealerships' C.S ?

The place you may want to call is Customer Relations at 1-800-382-2238. It may yake a few days or calls to get through to someone that can listen to your situation but it is the best "first step" to take. If you don't get satisfaction there then it's time to hire an attorney to recoup any lost wages, medical bills. The average settlement for a medical claim like this would be Medical Bills X 3 for compensation of the pain and suffering. If it goes that far as to a settlement make sure they will pay for all future medical bills relating to this injury because they'll probably want you to accept a flat amount of money. If the bills still keep coming in and your settlement money is spent then you'll have to pay the rest yourself. With the flat rate settlement there is usually a rider clause in there saying that you agree not to sue them for this in the future.

To find an attorney in you area you can check with the your local Bar Association. Be weary of T.V. ads, ads on the back of your local T.V. guide or other such ambulance chasers.

Case closed... personal injury, potential for serious injury .. you need a bona fide professional working on this case... contacting Acura reps will result in very little of what you're actually owed.

You should be able to get at least a 2k settlment, imo. Yep, do what PeterUber said, get a lawyer. A lawyer will do everything for you, Acura won't.

It looks better in the eyes of the court if you try to resolve the issue with Acura first before getting the courts invloved. If Acura refuses to accomodate you to get you back to where you were before the accident then the courtroom is the place to go.

My transmission did the same thing. It threw me forward in the seat as if I put the brakes on. So far I've been less than impressed with Acura/Honda quality.
