tls/cls bucket seats

well im taking in my car for its first oil change on staurday as well as a few other things. i was wondering if it would be possible to change the front tls seats with the front cls seats. on my drivers seat... the preforated leather (the bottom piece with the holes in it) is like loose or something. and the passenger seat has little threads coming out of the preforated leather. when they fix this... do they change the seats all together? if this is so do u think they could order cls seats instead at no extra charge.. since they more or less the same.

I'm sure it can be done... but since they are slightly different seats, it's possible there's a cost involved.

I also doubt they'd replace them for free unless you NEEDED two new front seats. Unless your dealer is the coolest dealer around... I would'nt hold your breath.......

There both perforated, however the CL-S seats are more bolstered around the sides to hold you better. IMHO the CL-S seats are better.

The CLS seats are hands down the winner over the TLS seats. They have more bolstering, more contours, and are WAY more comfortable. Anyone who has sat in both knows what I mean. And Str8acura..I seriously doubt that any acura dealership would install CLS seats into a TLS just because you want them too. In the worst case scenario, if your seats were in need of replacement, they would give you another set of TLS seats. Plus, I don't think the CLS seats will fit properly into our TLS, they are considerable bigger in size than the TLS front seats.

i looked into a cl-s seat for my 99 tl. still looking. the cl-s seat is sweet! it can be done, and would cost between $1,500 - $2,000 new! finding a wrecked cl-s with a seat in good condition and that matches your interior would be less $, but hard and lots of leg work!

I called all the Acura dealership in my area and believe you are not the first one who thought of this in mind. If you don't have $3000 to throw around don't even think about it. And the $3000 is just for the driver side.

You're forgetting how expensive all of the electrical components and heating elements in each seat are. Plus.. you'd be buying it straight from Acura.... OEM parts ALWAYS cost more.....

i was thinking that if they replace the seats... they could just order the cls instead of tls...they are probably about the same price so if anything i'll pay the difference. which brings me to my next question... has anyone ever taken their car in to the dealer cuz of the strings coming out of the seat? did they replace it or repair it?
