Exclamation Taillight Problems

Okay, so im new here and to get started i'd like to ask you if any of you had any problems with your taillights? If i press the brake they light up and then blinkers and hazards work. But they dont light up if i turn my lights on. Is it a fuse?

If ya have the correct size bulbs, make sure that they are properly installed and that the wiring is ok.

What happens if ya get in the car .....and activate the 4 way emergency safety flashers ?
Did this problem just start out of the blue or have ya done some recent work ?

It appears as though your parking and brake lamps are both non-functional, right ?
How's the front parking lamps ? Do any of the turn signals work normally at all ?

I bought this car off a person, and they never worked. Everything works in the taillights, BUT they dont just turn on. I press the brake and they light up, same with hazards. They work, but they dont just light up when i turn the lights on. My headlights are all fine and everything works.

Ouch that really sucks. Well hopefully others will chime in but for now, if I understand you correctly your saying that when you apply the brakes your rear lights turn on. if you turn on your turn signal they work. It's only when you put your headlights in the on position that the whole rear does not light up. If that's about right my next place to look would be your multifunction switch where you turn on your headlights. You may be able to track down wether it's sending lighting to the rear or I'm not sure about this but maybe there is a separate relay? For the rear that may not be working. Before you do that tho be patient there are guys in here that can tear this car apart with there eyes closed and I'm sure they have the answer. sorry I couldn't help

Do the front parking lamps come on when ya turn the lights on ?

Check to see if the stalk switch is working properly if the front parking lamps don't come on with the switch turned on. Otherwise try a new set of bulbs in the rear.
