Switchback leds

Hi all, I am thinking of buying switchback leds for my 99 tl. I have few questions before I buy. Is it hard to get to the turn signal through fender well? Where should I mount the resistors? Which is the turn signal wire and the ground wire to splice into the resistor? Pictures would be nice if you guys are running switchback leds.

There's a thread over in 3rd gen that shows you how to modify the flasher, to eliminate the need for resistors

I put LEDs in my 03 TL. The way to go around having resistors is to put in a different flasher relay. Autozone carries them for $10. It'll say electronic flasher on it. If for some reason it doesn't then try somewhere else. The relay is located on the back of the drivers side fuse panel. You can locate it under the steering column. If you are looking at the back of it you'll see 3 of those same types of relay boxes in black on the back of where the fuse box is. Remove the one closest to you (at the bottom) and on the farthest right from where you are (closest to the pedals). It's got 2 little clips you'll have to move off from the bottom to get it out. Then just slide in the new relay. It will blink faster than normal but not hyperflash. Then just put in your bulbs like normal and be on your way. Not hard to get to the bulbs through the fender. Just take off the clips on that side and reach in. You can also undo the bolt holding the bumper on and lower the bumper down for even easier access. It's really not a hard thing to do. I tried using the resistors and never could get it to work. The relay is definitely the easiest way to do this mod.

The type and number of the LEDs doesn't matter. Just be sure to get the same number as the factory ones. Like if it's a 7447 get a 7447 LED. Once you have the relay in any brand of LED will work.

I am getting alot of 1157 bulbs that seem to be the right fit (also mentioned in that linked thread) and thanks for finding it! It was in the performance section which might have been why I couldnt find it.

Also I want to get the rear's to round out the whole project, so will those same 1157 bulbs fit on the rear too if I get strictly rear ones? Like the ones I link below?

Yup looks right to me. Be careful that they rear ones aren't too long for the housing. Mine touch the back of the housing and they weren't long by any means.

Should be ok I would think. That's only like an inch and a half.
