SRS light stays on!! Help please

Ok so here is the story...

The car is running... I plug an inverter into the outlet and turn it on the power the laptop, and the radio goes out and I forget what else so I figured the radio ACC fuse blows. Now I tried to take the fuse out to check but I pulled out #9 by accident which is the back-up light/instrumental lights.

After a few seconds or so I realized I pulled the wrong one out and I put it back in.... D5 lights starts blinking and most of the other lights are on now. I replace the radio one and it works now but the other lights stays on. I shut the car off and turn it back on, all the lights are good except the engine light and the SRS light.

I am like FUCK now so I thought I would just disconnect the battery for a while and see what happens. I disconnected it for about 30 minutes and reconnected. The engine light went off but the SRS is still on.

Anyone have any clues of what I should do?

All the SRS fuses are ok, and from searching I think I just need to reset the comptuer's diags or something like that. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks!

I had the same problem a few weeks ago and took it to the dealer. It was not the fuse. They replaced a bad sensor module on the passenger's side.

I did and I was just a bit worried that if the scenario was different if was another solution. Also the colors of the wires did not match so I was unsure if it was indeed the smaller plug since the larger plug was had green-green wires.

My smaller plug was light green/black and black. I decided to take a chance and as per SwampGas (Thank you)

Jump them with the paperclip, turn the car on, wait for the light to go off, take out the paperclip. When the light turns back on, stuff it back in, the light will turn off, take it back out. It blinks twice to confirm the reset. You need to be quick with your paperclip shoving and yanking.

If you know for SURE that YOU caused the srs sensor to trip, then reset it yourself. Otherwise, take it to the dealer because your srs might be borked (as in, you're more likely to get hurt or killed if you need it).
I tried the paper clip a few things and couldnt do it fast enough I guess so I decided to use two wires and just hold them together to create the short. It was long enough for me to watch the SRS light and turn the key easily.

Thanks again SwampGas!!

reset teh srs light. phones and laptops can cause teh srs light to go on if they are sitting on the seat

Yeah I dont know it messes up the sensors, it happens to be bro's RSX every so often. I have not heard of it from the TL or at least not on this forum. In the RSX the sensor is right behind the center console where it is convienent to put cell phones.

I used to wardrive quite often and have had multiple laptops there at once...even with amplifiers to boost the 802.11a/b/g signal (incase a wifi signal is what's screwing it up).

Sounds like a crock to me

The SRS module is indeed under the passerger seat. I ran my external cellular antenna under the seat not knowing and the first time I used my cell phone while driving it made the SRS light come on.

Took it to the dealer and they said it is a know problem that the SRS module and cell phones don't like each other. I have since had to reset it once by myself, even though I moved the antenna, I had the antenna connected to the phone and it rang while in the passenger seat. I am sure one day I will forget, but as long as I keep the phone out of the passenger seat with the antenna connected it is fine.
