Wink Long trip made car faster......

This passed weekend I went down to my school, Universty of Maryland Eastern Shore, to graduate . The trip takes about 4 hrs one way. Once i got down there I got an oil change with Mobil 1 at a local shop. On the way back sunday night everything was normal, once moday came and it was time to go to work I shit u not my car felt like i had about 40 lbs more tq down low. Today is wednesday and the car stills feels like this. On the down side the car is running much hotter, the themostat needle alomost reached the H. Can anyone explane this. BTW i have an appointment with acura this friday to see why it running hot.

Thanx in advance for any responses

How many miles does it have on it? I've read the more miles on the engine the better its broken in and gas mileage and performance improve with the miles.

Could be that? Just a guess though

This doesn't make much sense... maybe the people who changed the oil did something to it? I'd have Acura check it out ASAP.

Yeah thats enough miles to have the engine properly broken in. I second the "check with acura to see if they did anything"

have you checked your radiator fluid level?

when i brought my toyota to the dealer for the 15k service check, they did not tighten the radiator cap correctly...almost all of the radiator fluid leaked out. the car was running hot. found this out when i checked the radiator fluid level when the engine was cool. i replaced the fluid asap.

Whatever you do, dont run that engine with the needle at the H mark. If needed, call the dealer and have em tow the car in.

Cars like this with Aluminum heads will warp, and blow the head gasket in no time flat.

BUt if your taking it to the dealership ...i think they'ld have the common sense to check that.

the dealership is the _one_ who did not tighten the cap correctly. just because they are "master" mechanics does not mean they do not make mistakes. i am sure they have a lot of common sense.

fyi...i bought the car and have the car serviced at the same dealership. no one else has touch anything under the hood.

don't drive the car with the needle in that range! it may already be too late, but have the dealer check it immediately
