you dont have the correct hose. and it shouldnt be attached to a sensor. giving it some throttle while doing it does help keep the car running

I did it today and a little white smoke came out. I also managed to smoke someone on local streets scaring him from moving down the street, hehe. But overall, nothing once I got onto the highway. Anyway, it was fun!

You have to follow the directions closely and do it with warm engine- then not let it sit too long then the 4000 rpm freeway run using vtec numerous times
Toss a can into 1/4 tank of gas and that will really clean the injectors spray pattern

I did today and worked pretty good. I used one can and put half in quarter tank of gas and half into intake. I didn't do oil, since I got some time till my next oil change. So what will be best, running seafoam again before my next oil change (~ 500 miles), or waiting for the next oil change after this one (~3500 miles)?
When I sucked the seafoam into intake, there was a medium amount of white smoke. Then while driving, there was a little bit more than before. So really there wasn't as much smoke as many here described as when I did it. So what does that mean? Does it need a second dose? (I know I know - I'm noob) And btw, how can you control the throttle from inside the engine?

Put it in and let the car idle for about 5 minutes and then drain. You might be able to drive to the service shop with it in, but once you put it in and it starts breaking everything up, I wouldn't want to let it cycle everything through all the lines. Put it in in the parking lot and just let it idle for 5 minutes before you pull it in to get the oil change done.
The low amount of smoke could be a number of things. You may just have a clean engine so it didn't have too much stuff to burn off. You also could've not waited long enough before you restarted and took the drive.
This shows the cable you need to get to to control the throttle. Right at the throttle body (where the intake meets the engine) you can look to the right and see two cables. I believe the one on the left is the throttle and you just pull towards you on a little tab. However far you pull it is how far it opens up the throttle, so you just need to give it a few taps towards you to keep it from stalling.

I have about a half tank left, and need an oil change. Tonight when I get home I am going to put a can in the vacuum line, a can in the gas, and a can in the oil. I am getting my oil changed in the morning...is this going to be okay, or do I need to get it changed after driving fast and burning off the excess seafoam?
#330
Do not drive the car with seafoam in the oil- put it in 5-15 minutes before changing oil- some do drive to the quickie lube with it in- but personally I do it in the driveway at idle then change the oil immediatly
Its fine to put 1 can in 1/4 tank of gas to superclean the injectors- as much of a can as the engine will take is fine too. 1/2 can in the oil is fine- see above note
Repeat in 2-3000 miles for max effect, then good for a year

Seafoaming as I type - fermenting now. Sucked damn near a half can through the vac line before I knew it and she barely sputtered! Poured the remaining half in the gas tank at half full. Will drive it off in the next 10 minutes and upon my return home, will install the new NGK Iridiums received in the mail earlier in the week - they only cost me $6 a piece. Will let everyone know the results (i.e. smoke) when I'm done.
Wish me luck!

As long as you dont have 90k miles on the plugs AND you did the 4000 rpm 15 minutes with lots of vtec use- all will be well
It often takes a few days to clear it all out
Use 1 can in 1/4 tank of gas to super clean the injectors

do it slowly because u can stall out the car. it will sputter and vibrate, but she will be ok

Ok, I changed the plugs and notice one of the hose is not attached. When I did seafoam I detached the bottom hose that feeds the intake. The top hose goes toward the bottom of the car.
The bottom hose goes toward the firewall where there is a clip but then it is not connected anywhere. It might have came off when the guys did my alarm last week. Where should it be connected to??

Reminder to all seafomers:
You may need to clip the end of the vac line after dipping repeatedly in can- especially if you have done it more than once. Must fit tight!!!!
Its very easy to replace with a new longer piece- planning for the future
Do another can thru the vac line and gas tank in 2k miles- that will make you good for a year
A full can in 1/4 tank of gas will super-clean the injectors tip spray pattern- very good idea with ever rising fuel cost

A healthy amount of smoke came out when I fired it up and I'm still "cleaning" with the amount I put in the tank. Should be filling up on gas on the way home tonight and I can tell a slight difference using Seafoam and new plugs I put in - pulls a little harder, but is much more smooth. I need to clean the throttle body as well, but am waiting to buy the thermoblock spacer before doing this. I was skeptical at first, but did notice a difference in the way the engine pulls and again, the smoothness of the engine. I didn't put any in the crank case because I'm not due for another oil change for a few thousand miles, but will more than likely buy another can when I'm ready for an oil change.

You can spay TB cleaner anytime- just remove the air filter from its box and spray away inside the intake tube- that woks!
And make sure to open the throttle while doing so the plates edges are exposed

Important to do a 15 minute 4000 rpm run down the freeway to burn off all the loose stuff for much better running- use vtec a number of times- hard accell- brake- hard accell
Repeat treatment in 2-3k miles for best results- then good for a year

Its on the zone shelf next to the carb cleaner spray- throttle body cleaner-$3
it is supposed to by gentler than carb spray and safe for use around plastics in some airflow meters/TB, which doesnt matter to our cars- but is a good selling point
Its emissions vac line- dont know size but zone has a small sample sizes you can take out to the car or they can come out and say oh xyz emiss vac- 4 feet will give you plenty to spare
Cycle the throttle plate during spay and follow directions on can carefully- car runs like its on seafoam for a few minutes then clears out nicely
One full can seafoam in 1/4 tank is approved by the maker- normal maitenance dose in gas is 1 oz per 1 gallon gas- super clean is 2 oz per 1 gal= 8 oz in 4-5 gallons no prob- cleans injectors!!
I can get one 8 oz can into the vac line by using a little throttle and finally smoke starts to come out the exhaust- now we are cooking with gas!! Let sit 5-15 minutes and 4000rpm multi vtec use on freeway for 20 minutes of fun time and you're done-

you have to remove the plastic engine cover to get the vac line-
attached to "rear"-firewall side of engine

#347
you got it- engine off- spray as close to throttle plate as possible- look in with a mirror and see black stuff on edge of throttle plate- that will be gone when done right
directions say spray x seconds with it closed- then x seconds with it open and wipe out what you can of the run off liquid
I did it a few times to be sure
the other thing is under the tb and I think requires TB assembly removal to flip over and take out 2 screws- open cover- spray- wipe- reassemble- easy!

Well everyone as we speak I have seafoam in my car sitting. I did the 1/3 vac line, oil, gas and I am doing the oil right after this. The engine did sputter a little but all in all it was alright. I hope my line went back on there tight. Anyway after I am watching this south park I am going to go driving it on the highway. First time my car will have seen high RPMS in a LONG time. I am so excited!!!!!!!!

You are suppose to let the seafoam sit for 5 to 15 minutes THEN do the drive while the crud is nice and soft andloose
Its approved to use 1 can in 1/4 tank of gas and I can get a whole can in the intack line with a little help from the throttle- super clean everything!!

NEED HELP!!! Is it supposed to idle really low when you first start it up????? and sputter like hell???? what is wrong????? I am going to go try again!!!
#353
Yes its perfectly normal it will run like that for a few minutes- idle it at home or drive very slow in the neighborhood- then it will clear out and start running better
smoke will be seen from exhaust etc
then its ok to take on freeway

Thanks everyone for the advice and sure enough I revved it and it stayed on. The smoke was crazy insane!!!! I hope none of my neighbors were outside by the time I hit the highway most of the smoke was gone expect with the high RPMs. I listened to some disturbed which always makes me feel like driving insane. And on my way to the highway behind me was brand new 07 TL you have to be wondering if that guy is now like "damn did I buy a piece of shit."
Anyway after I did that I did a full service on my car. Oil, brake, and tranny fluid. I am going to school on friday and making a long highway trip and am hoping to get 30+ MPG like other people report. I am not expecting good gas mileage this tank becuase of all those high RPMs.
Anyway what I have noticed so far is diffenently a better idle. Smoother in general. Its not a huge difference like your average joe wouldnt notice it but it is there. I still havent noticed a change in tranny shifting like others reported which I wasnt really expecting to begin with. Anyway great product and will do it much more often.

congrats
do it again in 2000 miles and then good for 15,000
use a full can in 1/4 gas tank- its ok and cleans the injectors spray pattern- a must for good mileage
then a can in a full tank as your start the trip- several hours of slow cleaning everything- now you are rockin
29 is normal- 32 is amazing on freeway
up the tire pressures a little too

Glad to hear 32 mpg is amazing. I did the seafoam a couple months back before a trip to Michigan and got 32-33 mpg there and back. I was pretty happy with the results. Seafoam is definitely worth the money.
